Katoomba Surf Report

Post by BabyImBoard » Wed May 07, 2025 9:36 pm

Wind swung east this arv while i was digging, thought i could smell salt. Popped into town. No surf. Still about a klm too high. Got some supplies from Maggie at the art supplies place. Went home and painted pictures thinking about surfboarding.
Maybe tomorrow.

Went to old golf course with dog this morning. It felt like there was some potential but the board stayed in the car as it was more of a feeling than anything else. There were some ducka there. Saw an echidna but no sets coming through.

Very flat today. I was thinking at my age i might never get properly barelled unless i either surf (ups the anti) or take up bobby boarding.

Headed out to Narrow Neck this morn to see if Burragorang pt was firing. It wasnt. Very flat. Saturday so going to play my guitar and further research bobby boarding.

So tried to mix it up today , headed further away from coast, went to browntown and there was a really good bank on the south end but not enough water. I think the bank is more useful to block the archery clubs arrows than for surfboarding porposes.

Make sure you pack your lube if you’re going to brown town.

With the lack of barrels i went to my local sportspower store in high street lithgow to see if they had any bobby boards. None. Headed out to lake lyel with my cv2 hoping to catch a wake but nobody was boating. I have a vague understanding that sea levels are rising in Jakarta and Florida and Wamberal. If i can get a bigger car i would feel like im doing my bit to further the chances of a decent swell in Katoomba. So the pug might need to go.
