Re: Blue Bottles

Option 1. Wear one of those rashie type suits they use as protection from the killer species in the tropics. Look great at Bondi - girls will love it. Option 2. Take some vinegar. Relieves stings and good on your fish and chips. Option 3. Dig in sand until hole has water for you to play in. Option 4...

Re: The Surf Helmet Discussion

Statistically, it's way more likely to save you from injury while driving in your car. Would you wear it on the way to the beach? Once passed an elderly couple on the freeway. Doing about 70 clicks was the male driver. His female passenger was wearing a helmet. Had to slow down, pull in behind them...

Re: Is this a good surfboard deal?

Well what a breath of fcuking fresh air you are. :D Sarcasm? You actually have me confused. Ageed now just saying, my old board's a paddler glad to lend Yes, we have become somewhat sidetracked. 'Boo, you will find, as you go on in life, as you step up, very often, you step in it. Henceforth, you a...

Re: The Surf Helmet Discussion

I've even tried to wear a hat in the surf for protection from the sun during middle of the day sessions. Even find them uncomfortable so generally don't. Same, got an apparently good one, but it was shit to duck-dive in. I do wear a hood in winter though. Don't like it as gives disengaged feeling, ...

Accepted. I don't like how it reads myself so I wear the criticism without problem. Hence, the target avatar. I know I can be my own worst enemy. Sincerely hope longyfreshy gets the most out of her injured knee and surfing.

Re: Is this a good surfboard deal?

Swvic, you can stay. Though I don't know how I became the gatekeeper or Daryl's translator? Thanks, mate. Will try my best to stay on the straight and narrow. Offy's post gives some (sort of) explanation and the quote below might also assist. Swvic, you joined in 2011 and you still don't know anyth...

Re: The Surf Helmet Discussion

If memory serves me well, I think NCs li'l' bro' wore one for a time after a head injury. I briefly wore a mate's Gath to see how it felt and didn't like it. Duck diving was a real issue and I thought a heavy go down might increase risk of neck/spine injury because the helmeted head had greater resi...

Thanks for being so gracious and good luck with it all.

Re: Is this a good surfboard deal?

Are you for real? You joined RS in 2006 and still you need such advice. Unless you're very very young, you have not learned enough and should consider alternative recreational pursuits.

They used to be common place.
Had 'em at all (3) high schools I went to. Boys called 'em rag-burners.

Re: Building lung capacity - advice needed

Should've been over here a few months ago, swell was so masisve on the buoys on the ocean beachies (8 metres or more) the Pines, I shit you not the Pines, was 5 - 6 foot. It was insane, I surfed till I nearly collapsed from exhaustion :D Didn't mention Pines yesterday, but same as Crunchie - big an...
