Re: Where did you surf today ?

conditions on the goldie between 6:30 and 9am were quite good, still a little sweep left from the swell surge of the last days but much cleaner and a few nice waves with my new board, blue skies. The only flaw is that the swell direction produces more useless rights than beautiful lefties..

Re: Where did you surf today ?

yeah that sweep on the goldie was legendary today, took me half way from burleigh to broadbeach  some giant sets coming through but pretty fat on the exposed beaches, barreling on the points.

Re: Firewire

aren't glassed to last (single 4oz on deck )
Keep in mind that the glassing is not the only layer between you and the foam. There is that "high density aerospace composite" layer which, I agree with buzzy, is very hard to compress.

Re: board choice for the good days

Rico seems to be saying that what's "good" in Europe will be less "good" here, relatively speaking. That is, he now sits lower in the pecking order. Exactly, no need to get the flags out Trev. Btw I've seen breathtakingly sick surfing in France, Spain and Portugal and heaps of locals on a level tha...

Re: board choice for the good days

I like your idea, because unless you demo boards extensively, it is always an educated stab in the dark. I had a custom board from a well-known shaper in Portugal before and it turned out to be a little too bulky in the end - I just tried to avoid the common mistake to overstate one's surfing abilit...

Re: board choice for the good days

I will take a look around today and check out alternatives, if not I'll stick with the Flexfire, gotta need some good advice on the size tho, don't want to limit it to being a step up board only...

board choice for the good days

I just moved to Oz in January (for about 3 years) and need to put a 2 board quiver together that'll suit the conditions on the Goldie. Being a goofy, I generally stay away from the points and surf the lefties on the beaches, mostly Narrowneck/Main Beach/Spit - conditions vary a lot on these spots, c...

Re: RIP CURL PRO 2011

I sense false advertising here, how can you be sure that Joel/Mick/Owen and Taj are really made in Australia? Just because they're born and raised here does not necessarily mean that they conceived here! Taj's parents are from the US so he might as well be from the low-wage country that is the great...

Enlighten me then.

I'm tired of reading that I am wrong without further explanation. Doesn't make you seem any wiser.

Re: RIP CURL PRO 2011

He'd then buy a mass produced chinese pop out copy of the fastest board originally shaped by this guy, ja? Connecting those surfwear firms so closely to the sport of surfing is as reasonable as connecting the firm who prints the band shirts to the music of the artist, ja ja? Please go ahead and sue ...

Re: RIP CURL PRO 2011

I don't expect a Euro from a landlocked country to get it because "Only a surfer knows the feeling". I'm not a surfer? You're the last generation then. Don't give me a silly definition of surfer. You're stuck in the past when these companies could still fool you into believing that they're no...

Re: RIP CURL PRO 2011

Do something against it then, make yourself heard, step up for those who are misled. You'd probably get some answer about how this term is undefined or a common saying or whatnot. I just skipped trough some ad slogans and almost all of them contain "false advertising" as you put it - but only if you...
