so steamer it is and boardies should that hot day arise. i suffer badly from skin growths.

due to melanoma issues i want something i can wear most of the year. i find boardies uncomfortable. but then so is a full length steamer.

i see a lot of guys surfing in summer now in springies.

What time of year steamer gives way to springie?

I dont own either. Hence I dont get out much.

But looking to jump in a bit more often now.

Will I be all good with a springie around the central coast and sydney? Or still too cold?

I agree with Ric. The only other factor not mentioned apart from how old is how flexible are you? Some people are way more flexible than others and that flexibilty decreases with age. Its the biggest limitation on board size I reckon. thanks ric thats my main prob, im not that great in flexibility....

ok i tried on a billabong foil. was ok. very stiff upper body, in the arms, thought this may suck when paddling. the other issue is, i tried a xxl, which was about right size, but length was about 2 inches too long on legs and arms. any advice there? i cant seem to find a xxl short in the cheaper mo...

Best of the budget steamers?

I need a wetty to get me through winter. I have put on some beef, approx 105kg and size 42 waste. (big mofo)

im 6ft2.

dont want to over invest as i will likely go from an xl to a l next year.

so something cheap, but i want to be warm, i hate the cold. 3/2 etc.

any suggestions?
