However only a local will recognise the dredging barrels in the last section of that movie. My 7' "Rooster" pin tail is shaped by Darrel "Rooster" Dell who used t...

thr right board ?

the longer and wider the board, the easier to paddle and more stable once up but will be harder to turn than a shorter board.( other variales like rocker also play a big role here ) You need to work out how much manouverability you want in your board. I would suggest something around 7 foot and mayb...

Re: Enough Already.

What on earth are those blokes thinking walking around with their boards covered in stickers? If you're not sponsored, for christsakes, take the fu(kin stickers off. Why would you want to endorse someones product unless there's something in it for you anyway? After the performance I saw the other d...

Re: 70's boards

KK Its great to see some other folks interested in these kinds of boards. I ride a couple of 70's single fins - all a tad over 7'. Real thick under your chest then the plan shape is pulled right in to a diamond tail. The paddle really well and they go straight really fast ... turns are no so hot. I...

Re: Flat days

You'll find you don't need a 3" thick board to help you catch small waves. Especially at your weight. You'll find most boards 3" thick will have big blocky rails and you will probably find them difficult to turn. To give you an idea, I've been surfing for 27 years and I'm 6'1" and 87kgs. Took a 7S ...

ive ridden a few 'moon tail' logs, there a scooped out tail, kinda like an inverted round tail. also called a crescent tail or a tunnel tail, so many tail options but we only really use 4 or 5, why ? are they the only ones that work or are surfers not game for a little experimentation? There is alo...
