Future Fins - 421 Hatchet

Just curious as to if anyone has actually tried this fin out? Just busted my center fin out yesterday and can grab one as an individual for about $25 as opposed to buying a new set for $120. Hard to find a review on them and apparently every fin these days is awesome on there product sites. Interest...

Re: twin fin keel fish...who has one and how it goes?

I love this thread thread cause there are those that right the twin off and those that love the fact that they are fully versatile and able to be ridden in most waves. Mine is a Banks MKII with Future Keel fins. It is funny that I find the board is nothing special in small slop which is where everyo...

I totally disagree. We have well overhead lefts running down the beach and I rode my 6' Twin Banks Swallow MkII fish. You're a fool to think these dont perform. They go vert on back and front hand. They generate a lot more speed on the face down the line for the waves we had and they sit very neatly...

Just watched The life and films of Ably Falzon (morning of the earth). Interesting flick and I we all have to admit as surfers there is a part of us that wants to drop out and live in the treehouse at backbeach Angourie. I guess the issue is obvious from this thread. We are all keen to do it but onl...

Great post I agree. Crazy if you think this will have no impact on you. It takes more than a few weeks for the wheels of globalisation to come to a halt. It is a bit like dominos in that once something falls over (banks) next in line occurs all the way down to the worker in the corner store. Easy fo...

Not sure why so many think they're hard because they go out without a wetty. On North Coast at moment with NE swell the water is frigin cold. Stuffed if I'm sitting on a board with 16 degree water in NE swell dribble throughout summer. At least wear a springy and the 1ft Spring swells seem bearable....

2 big camps and 2 other half ass one means a big crowd. Always work! it is surf you're talking about. When I arrived last year it was 3ft dribble for 3 days. Then it cranked...however even when you thought it was maxed with crowds from the camps the boats turn up. Don't want to put a downer on it as...

I agree Larry
The world is a changing place. OpenSource it and make the world a better place. Must be countless surfers that would like to view it globally. Why hide it away or sell copies.

Lets get it on Youtube and all share the stoke. Much happy karma will return

I dont live in Sydney anymore but remember Boomer and his epic taless well. Boomer ran the gym in DY above the fruit world and then moved over to Sturdee Pde (above the fruit store hmmm something in that). In 95 when I was about 22 I would frequent his gym. Often he would tell tales that sounded ver...

Was posted here because of the hopeless GUI for the forum which sets that as default. No one really wants to post here at all. Sure it was meant for General just a time poor society to lazy to read the poor structure. Also my point was not that Aust shouldn't surf it rather that in no way is it news...

Tow ins on CH10 - yawn

I'm sick of seeing under par tow in sessions on the news etc. Tonight on CH10 news was a prime example of crap surf and not even that sizable. Sure give 25ft Jaws footage that is clean it is interesting. Anything less a yawn. I put forward... 1- Tow in is a skill. If more surfers had access to a ski...

Red algae

There are multiple species of red algae which live between the inter tidal zone and the continental shelf located approximately 18 kilometres off the mid north coast. Alagae are the basis of the marine food chain and the warm summer currents bring nutrients which enables the algae to multiply. Port ...

NSW Rivermouths pre70's

I love nothing more than a rivermouth surf break. Some in NSW are classic on there day and easily the best waves I ever had even beating oversea travel. I have spoken to many older surfer who reckon pre 70's when all the groins / breakwalls were built these waves were even better. Who would like to ...

Nope it was packed on the gun days. I was amazed how few surfed upto 6ft. Not huge crowds and waves for the the taking. 10ft packed. Lots of guys waiting on shoulders for others to crash and burn. There was a serious crew of older hawaiians that charge up to the 10ft mark. They made it look easy. Wh...

G-land 23/6 - 4/7

Thought i'd attach some shots of G-land from my recent trip. Set your expectations low and you are guaranteed the time of your life on any trip. Luckily it pumped while I was there for a few days, yet every day had its share of surprises and epic barrels. Surf ranged from 3-4ft with no one out. 5-6 ...

Well - a little further down the coast

We have been offshore here all day. Some ok waves around. Nothing like Friday morning.
Tomorrow I'm putting in the epic call. Predicted offshore, well protected and size increase throughout the day. Which option? which point? Oh Huey treat us kindly. Time to pull out the 7'2"..yeooowww
