Luggage box roof racks

Seems like these are normally used for skis/snowboards - anyone used them to carry surfboards? Just wondering if board might move around inside and get dinged. Would appreciate any suggestions on brand and where to get them in Sydney.

Re: Fiberflex - worth trying?

i have had 3 hayden fibreflexes - found they lasted twice as long as PU boards (snap after 12 v 6 months) - definitely lighter and buoyant but i found they don't have as much drive as PU but you can go a little wider/thicker to allow for this - have just gone back to PU for something different but w...

Re: that wetsuit discussion...

just got rejected by Rip Curl for warranty claim (back zip)- even if your warranty has expired by one day (my wettie was 2 years old) don't bother trying to get them to repair it for free - better to find someone local to repair - cheaper and won't have to pay shipping both ways

Re: Board Bags

try squid.net.au - their triple board bags will fit in 4 boards without fins and they're great value

Villa in Bali

Planning to go early season next year (April) and wondering if anyone knows of good reasonably priced villa accommodation on Bukit (3 bedrooms). Have done hotels last few years but will have wife and 6 month old and villas look insane but bit pricey going through internet agent.

interesting post i have snapped 3 boards from bailing when 6ft+ lips are staring down at me (might be karma) would totally agree that you need to look behind you first and if there is even a remote chance your board might hit someone then you need to hang on. would be interested if people have any s...

M5's definitely the go - have tried carbon but nothing comes close to M5's for speed and drive (much better than old plastic ones)

have surfed cimaja and turtles - would recommend turtles surf cabins - i booked through freeline surf (should be in white pages). turtles picks up heaps of swell and if it gets over 4ft you can check our ombuk tuju - one of the best big wave spots in indo - have fun.

hey BB - was at turtles 2 years ago in july - you're right it closes down over 4 foot - there is a big wave spot called umbak tujuh (sp?) an hour's bike ride along which has been compared to sunset so you'll always find a rideable wave in the area.

have fun!

thanks guys - very informative rory - getting pysched already.

did you get over to barbados at all? i hear it lacks the consistency of puerto rico but is less hassled and better vibe in and out of the water.

carribean

anyone surfed there? will have 2 weeks with my girl in september so looking for an island that gets waves and has other non-surfing activities to keep her occupied. thinking maybe barbados or puerto rico even though i think they are both pretty touristy and crowded breaks. any suggestions appreciated
