Was surfing "one eye's" in Mauritius, couple of guys out, there is a small opening in the reef that the left breaks towards and its really easy to get out due to the rip. Surfed perfect 3-4 ft glass for a couple of hours before deciding to paddle in through the opening in the reef. Paddling for a sh...

I'm married with 2 young kids, my wife hates the beach and I think thats great. When the surfs cranking she doesn't mind looking after the kids whilst I surf. Then when the surfs crap I look after the kids whilst she indulges in her own interests. A perfect understanding that maximises my time in th...

For those of you who have a family, Racecourse beach caravan park near Bawley Point has great cabins right on the sand. Can’t remember the cabin numbers but there are three of them that have no road frontage, walk off the veranda straight onto the sand. Kids can play on the beach whilst you sit on t...

Just like smnmntl I also have an image of jet ski's. I was surfing my home break one day when we were invaded by 2 guys on jet ski's. Instantly myself and everyone else in the lineup was pissed of at their presence. Our annoyance soon turned to laughter as we watched one of the guys hit a shallow sa...

Anyone surf the south coast yesterday 23/03

I sat and watched Sandon do its thing yesterday avo, it was solid 7 - 8 foot, offshore and not many guys out. I have seen the jetty a lot better but it was still pretty to watch. Did anyone see any other south coast locations handling yesterdays conditions ?. I am guessing that the shellharbour area...

No doubt that in 20 years from now surfers all around the world will be diagnosed with cancer of the leg that they wear their sonar devices on. Just enjoy the fear of the unknown, there is nothing better than telling your mates how tough you were, surfing some deep water point all on your own on dus...

To think that my fear factor kicks in at 5 foot aussie pipe. These blokes have got to have a death wish. I cant imagine being that confident in the water to even consider paddling out at a place like that.....

I remember years ago I was surfing the 2 ft shore break at Manly. 2 Westie dudes decide to come out in their footy shorts with one board between them. They continue to attempt to catch the shorey that was breaking in about 2 foot of water but they were getting nowhere, paddling like hell for waves t...

Depends what you are looking for. If you want to look good and sip expensive coffee after an exhausting 15 minute surf session filled with hundreds of other yuppies then go North.

New bodyboards auction

Hi guys, I just noticed that grays online has currently got an online auction going for NEW RHEOPAIPO BODYBOARDS. I am a standup surfer so I don't know if this brand is any good but I thought that realsurf bodyboarders may be interested. I have bought heaps of stuff from this auction site so I can v...

Lembongan is great. As someone else commented the swell comes in with the tide and it jumps from 2 foot to 6 foot very quickly. Shipwrecks is a class wave but it gets really crowded and the rip ensures that your arms turn to jelly really quickly. I found the left on the opposite side of shipwrecks c...

Was out at Aussie pipe about 10 years ago, it was a great day, blue skies, crystal clear water and a light nor easter was keeping the 3 foot waves clean and hollow. It was a week day and there were only 2 of us out having an absolute blast, when we both seen the fin about 10 metres out to sea. We lo...

Just a word of warning, don't leave anything valuable in your car whilst at "The Farm". The place is abundant with thieves and smashed windows are a common sight in the carpark. For me, the place was more enjoyable before the sealed roads went in.

A previous forum topic talked about mobile phones and pagers in the line up, this mornings paper has an article that takes this concept a step further. Judging by the rivalry created by the previous forum this is sure to ruffle a few feathers. Where does it all end, technology suxs doesn't it. Here'...

I think that different movies are enjoyable for different reasons. -I will always enjoy watching the old classic movies (ie morning of the earth) as they remind you of how surfing should make you feel. After watching one of those movies I cant help but start to organize the next kombi trip up or dow...
