Re: Where did you surf today ?
Meanwhile I got the biggest beachie wave of my life this morning. Crazy! 10' straight up, in front of Newport surf club. Swell is really making shit happen down here. Was that intentional or did the sweep take you north away from Barton and the others? Funny, a local journalist reported last week i...

Re: Warfarin
Another advantage is that the risk of blood clots arising from long haul economy-class airline travel is lessened while on wharfarin. The doctors will always tell you to not ride a bike or surf so as to cover themselves. Everything in life has risk attached so no point in cocooning yourself and miss...

Re: Watch recommendations
I was told by a watchmaker that for surfing anything less than 150m waterproof is shit.
From experience 50m waterproof is bullshit - the first splash of water and it's gone.

He went the whole way according to the press. Bruce Jenner for example didn't take to the knife so he can "just" stop the hormones and, presumably to a non-medico's untrained eye, revert. Dreadful situation that WW/PD is in.

Every trannies nightmare
According to the Courier Mail, Peter Drouyn/Westerley Windina has changed his/her mind. After sex-reassignment surgery a couple of years ago, he/she does not want to be a woman anymore and wants a reversal. I can't think of many worse situations to get yourself into. BTW, he is the guy in Elle McPhe...

Re: Nth NSW sharks. Can they p!ss off already?
what was an old dick like that doing on a short board? Never too old, Nat's older than that bloke and rides a shortie. yeah I've met a few guys late sixties going on gromhood that rip. never use Nat Young as an example for anything, best if he was erased from surfing history. Met him a few times ov...

Re: R.I.P. Midget
Back in about 1968 when I was at school there was a photo of Midget in the Herald surfing a sizeable wave on a bellyboard. This was because he had broken his leg. His leg was in a plaster cast and covered in plastic to make it waterproof. He just couldn't stay out of the water. A long shot but does ...

Re: R.I.P. Midget
I was at Palmie on a pretty ordinary day about 20 years ago surfing the usual close-to-shore crap with many others. This older bloke paddled 100 metres further out from us and just sat there on his board. WTF we all thought. After 15 minutes this huge wave came from nowhere and the older guy scored ...

Wouldn't a "clear" board have the same effect as a yellow board if we are talking contrast?

Re: Ebay Bargains thread
Couple of years ago I was out at good Bungan and one of TF's sons (Liam or Kye) was surfing a Drifta, he was ripping the guts out of good 5/6 ft waves. Watching power surfing like that was pretty damn impressive. One of the new age groovy movies has footage of them surfing those in hollow waves and...

That's a very good first contribution to the forum. Thanks. North Narra was epic stuff on Monday arvo - 10 in the water and about 30 on land just watching.

Re: WTF! Shark attack insurance (no, really)
My reading is that the payment is made only if you are killed by a shark. Horrific injuries don't qualify. Let's assume that there are just 100,000 surfers in Australia who pay the $130 premium then that's $13,000,000 revenue. How many fatal shark attacks were there last year in Australia, 1, 2? Eve...
