Re: SUP's
My missus made the whole family try it for her birthday, on the local Lagoon. She loved it. The next weekend I was driving up to QLD to pick up some second hand boards. Lovin' it. Haven't taken it out to the surf yet, just the Lagoon and the Haven. I come away thinking I've done no exercise but I've...

Re: Epoxy Mals
Found the same thing on an 8'2 Epoxy McCoy. It's a boat, nearly a SUP and it need a few extra strokes to get it into waves early. The poly boards didn't have the problem, like the extra buoyancy was a drag. On the other hand, rode a 9'4 Nat Young Bic, and I loved it. I've heard the Billy Tolhurst Ep...

Re: Mal cover, 9'4" used, SOLD
Arrived in the mail today, quality bit of gear.
10 years ago I bought a Mal cover from a mob in Byron,I balked at the price. It's lasted 3 times as long as any other board bag I've ever owned cos of those YKK zippers. Well worth the entry price, and saved me money in the long run.

Re: Ask Carroll
Nick, How often do you pull out a board and ride it for how it feels, rather than purely for it's performance ? - say an old school Mal. I often look at designs and wonder how it would feel on certain waves, then I'll pursue that for 6 months - even chasing waves that suit that design, but I guess b...

Re: 'Transistional era' midlength Vee Bottoms
Yeah, I'd like to give one of these a try, I've seen quite a few popping around the place. Hey Wanderer, Adam from Imprint ( http://imprintsurfboards.tumblr.com/hull ) might be coming along to the next CCMB club day. He's been making hulls and I had a go of one last month. Needs a different approac...

Re: Crowded point breaks
Crustt, not exactly the Aloha spirit, but that's gold..... Do you mean the not there comment, well if I was coming toward him unless I was going to run over him I would not know he was there, I have tunnel vision when I surf. If he was sitting out around the take off zone and I was getting a heap o...

Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot
IB is definitely having a good time.... Now, serious question. On such a back foot design, why, why would you ride a longer board, especially on those offshore days? If you're foot is firmly planted over the fins, then even a big guy would have trouble using ALL that rail on say a 7'6. It would have...

Re: review of Mccoy Astron Zot
It's all good Damo - Sounds like you're having fun on that 7'0 surftech. If I snap / destroy or just wear out that Zot then I'll get a board designed as a quad from the ground up, probably an NPJ Quartet. This is a vid that was posted on MagicSeaweed - Ian Brown on Nuggets in Indo. http://youtu.be/e...
