Lovely the red algae's here!! Spent a few months living in Port Mac last summer, it was so bad around there that days on Town Beach had red waves rolling thru and times when you couldn't see your board whilst you were sat on it. the whole region was like it, up to Crescent and down past Camden Haven...

IMO the computer shaping of blanks is great, it's keeping the cost of my boards down at a reasonable level that i can justify a new board every nine months/one year.... However, and this is a biggy, each of the computer shaped models requires an experienced hand to check and finish off before glassi...

T'is a serious kook trick, and I too am ashamed when i feel i need to do it, but there are some times when it is just necessary (I'm sure some big balled guys are going to say 'never, you're a pussy for ever letting your board go') but i generally find it's in need when a wave has closed out on you,...

was glassey as just before, then went so dark, a bolt of lightening hit ridiculously close, saw the water in the air boil around it leaving a trail in the sky, cleared out the pack at n steyne, got us talking about the chances of getting hit whilst in the water...surely the surrounding land is highe...

and half the deaths last year whilst surfing....hmmmm

I know we spend a disproportional time in the water, but swimmers and the like are disproportionally represented in numbers....I think they just have it in for us, come on hands up who pissed them off?

There's a fantastic one in Lagos in Portugal, just off the town beach, you get a great audience and it must be around 35ft, high enough for me to brown the boardies. time it wrong and the low tide can bust you up bad, time it right and you get a load of pork'n'cheese hotties giving you a round of ap...

Northern beaches rock jumps

I really couldn't believe how many kids were congrugating at the top of jump rock in Manly on sunday, almost put me off doing my usual double twist, pike to enter, but got the applause nonetheless (ie jumped, did something stupid and managed to split my lip, who knows how!) Anyway, seems jumping fro...

..... and ok science guys, why last night was the line up bearably cold, however as soon as you got in the mixing pot on the inside, the water was seriously frigid? if you drifted toward the witches cauldron that was a sand/water (1:1 mix) it made you seriously shiver.

Ok, now I have something else to hate Manly council for, geez they give me the $hits, from everything from the bloody 'code of respect'!! the fun dodging, work shy pen pushers in that council are the most useless bunch of a$$holes I've ever heard of. The parking issues are ridiculous, I can't believ...

Living around Manly I get to see it all, the upside down board on roof always makes me smile, you might as well have huge billboard on the roof exclaiming "I have no idea what I'm doing"!!! The ones I love down the beach, and I have some classic video footage of better examples, are; running down th...
