Has anyone here been to the philipines? More specifically Cloud nine and surrounding area? Looking at going next year and just want some general feedback from trips there Cheers Yes, many times. It's a fantastic place, but not for the faint-hearted. The footage is from an area in which there's quit...

He does have some nice singles and fishes that are no doubt pricey but I guess with all those tints and gloss it runs into more . I haven't bought a board from Six Ounce, and tend to buy from a local shaper at local shaper prices (with the odd exception). Personally, though, I'm OK with the idea of...

Here's Tim Bessell's version http://www.bessellsurf.com/index.php Aren't US patents protected under Aussie law as part of the trade deal we did with the yanks? It's not quite as straightforward as that. Patents are all national in their operation only, unless at the time of making your application,...

Could anyone please enlighten me on what the patent PENDING looks like :?: Seems to me from an un-educated view, that it'd stand on pretty dam flaky ground given that bert has been making parabolic rails with an eps core for over 10 years, so the only thing that could be patented (note: it's down a...

did u know u can but a WHOLE allan key set for same price as one fcs key :?: That's true Fong but there's a reason they make those keys from soft metal! Better to strip the key than the grub 'cos as our friend who started the thread has found, those grubs are a pain in the rear to get out. I agree ...

Hang on a minute - just want to check that the plug is actually stripped. It can sometimes catch people out when they've actually rounded the soft metal fin key, and then mistakenly assume they've killed the grub or plug when all that's needed is a new key. If you have stripped the plug, how? :shock...

Just came across this whilst Youtubing.

Looks like he lived to tell the tale. I'm pleased to see the cameraman was so concerned about the guy's safety!

I'm in no way against "progress", but I wouldn't class using skis as progress. It's just an alternative way to do something that was already working perfectly fine. The usual format tests paddling skills and ocean knowledge (i.e. how to get back to the line-up in the optimal manner) as well as wave-...

I hadn't heard of it or seen any in Oz, so checked out the CI web site (which I'm sure you've already seen). Great video to watch and looks like an interesting board. Kind of reminded me of some of the progressive Murray Bourton shapes, but maybe a bit more stubby. I recently got hold of one of Tolh...

Unless we're talking major board surgery here, it sounds like those timetables are pretty generous. It's probably just that the repairers are busy. A typical ding takes me about 7 days in total, absolute maximum. 2-3 days: dry board +1 day: apply patch and drying time +1 day: apply further patch (if...

Jetskis at Bells
So what's the view on jetskis towing riders into the line-up?
I haven't really decided whether I'm against them generally for comps, and they certainly help to maintain the pace of the action, but for some reason it just doesn't seem right at Bells.
What's the consensus?

I get  2 bags up to 32kg EACH! I strongly recommend you double-check that before packing that much - huge allowances like that are normally reserved for First Class passengers (does Jetstar have first class?!) As a general rule of thumb for long-haul economy class, most airlines give you abo...

Depending on where you go, Hawaii is one of the best places in the world to pick up quality second hand boards for reasonable prices. Travelling with any board is a tricky business. Recently Jetstar managed to put a 2" x 2" compression in the nose of one of my boards during a flight back from the Su...
