just got back from there. Awesome place. Good waves, not big though. Suspect it has to get a decent size before Picanninies starts breaking. Always a wave at Ral though. Didn't see many mozzies, but Malaria's pretty rife so cover up !!

Hey KK, Serious big wall climbing is the go. Those pics of Kanangra falls are fine but u cant climb up that crumbly shit. The place to go in NSW is the Wolgan vallley. 300m high scary big cliffs. You can actually climb at Mt banks on the same route you abseiled down. It just takes a hell of a lot lo...

Go travelling ! PHD doesnt necessarily translate to better career progression anyway. Good academics dont always make for people good at the actual job (How many Managing directors have doctor in front of their name). PHD's are good if you want to pursue an academic career, otherwise your wasting va...

Tracks has always been purile. It hasnt changed that much, maybe some of you have grown up a bit. Whats wrong with a top 100 poll anyway ? is tha somehow going to make these places even more crowded.

a mate of mine stepped off a windsurfer onto a ray at pittwater. It put its barb right through his foot. He was on crutches for 6 weeks. Said it was the most painful thing he had ever experienced.

the surf travel companies refer to the place generically as the Caroline islands. I guess they dont want you to start turning up there yourself and not staying at the surf camp. That break is called P-Pass. Its been in heaps of magazines lately

I find that your constantly challenging yourself when you surf, so I dont necessarily miss my mates being around all the time. Would be better when it...

Larry Blair puts together surf guides. Little pocket size books, but i cant remember their name. Covers Aust/Indo/Hawaii. So presumably still surfs, but in more exotic locations.
