We hadn’t seen any serious size in the swell all weekend here.
Surfed the local yesterday arvo and got a few smokers.
Had to wait a fair while between close outs and lulls.
The lulls made it easy to get out at least as there were some powerful 6ft sets.
I was the last one out about 5.15 and a big step ladder set obliterated me.
Solid 10ft sets today. Not for me.
I’m sure the point is pretty good.

Did something similar at Freshwater once.
First light, massive swell but easy out in the rip channel along the south headland. Got out the back, still alone and realised I shouldn't be there.

Managed to snag a smaller one by paddling like mad between sets, dodged the rocks, made the beach and went home.
Yes, Bronte is good for that. You can often slip out in the rip with a bit of luck. Saw a guy nearly make it out on Saturday from the beach. It looked relatively easy for how big it was to get out off the pool. The sets were tending to head across diagonally rather than hit the pool straight on. This guy started paddling and there was a crazy long lull in the sets. He didn’t paddle hard enough though and got washed in. They were surfing way out level with the other reef that breaks in front of the cemetery.

Dragged myself down for a small sess at collaroy out of the wind. The reefers were having a comp so got to catch up with a few of the guys which was nice. Should rejoin and get down there for a bit of fun when I can

4th in semi today so no final for me this time.
Some hot competitors from Vicco, Lennox, Cabarita, Burleigh and the 3 clubs up here so I'm happy with that.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Had probably my best surf I’ve had for the year.
3ft point break. 2 of us out for the last hour of light and sitting on different takeoff spots.
I just seemed to be in synch, everything I wanted to do happened. Was like I was barely trying.
Haven’t had that for a long time.

Epic buddy. I reckon a week plus of cranking surf, and you all over it, contributed to that special session where everything is just....too easy. A great feeling!

Pretty much perfection here today - consistent overhead sets, light offshore, only a few out ATM. Just waiting for mid tide.

More super fun waves this morn.
What a good run we are having. Making up for the terrible summer and absent autumn.
Surfed by myself for an hour and a half. Then 5 guys came out so I went in.
They were actually fine and everyone was spread out and there were heaps of waves but I’d had my fill.

yep same- first surf at my new local. 2-3ft.

Realised it is the best uncrowded beach in the area, probably due to there being better breaks around. But hey, two other surfers, some sweet little fast breaking lefts and rights and it is 5 mins in the car. Good shit.
