I guess humans must be the easiest prey of all.steve shearer wrote: ↑Sat Nov 07, 2020 1:29 pmbad prey but easy prey for opportunistic, ambush predator.
That data about prey preferences came from a recent report I read based on examining the stomach contents of great whites. I hope there was some extrapolation about humans

yeah, small sample size and showed pretty much a juvenile white will eat almost anything.
preferred prey aus salmon, which will surprise almost nobody who has any clue.
I was quite surprised that even whites <2m will prey on dolphins.
also prey preferences for whites may change in sub-tropical waters (the study was done on whites caught in Sydney beach meshing)

Well the problem with that theory is that they only know what we're made of by biting us.Cranked wrote: ↑Sat Nov 07, 2020 1:26 pmMy understanding is that humans are very unsatisfactory prey because:tootr wrote: ↑Sat Nov 07, 2020 11:57 am#2
That’s basically my thinking - after following the program since the get go, generally out of interest.
There’s a lot more to than anyone thought, they reproduce and grow faster than thought, and in a couple of years those 2.5 m average size will be 3m plus and switching to larger prey than fish and rays.
1. Ratio of bone to meat is way too high (less nourishment and the bones are very hard to digest)
2. Not nearly enough fat to sustain the open ocean venturing of the mature whites
So there's some hope.
Big ones keep eating rays too.
When you're that big you have to eat regularly or your liver shrinks and you lose buoyancy.
I wouldn't be surprised if some of these attacks are from desperately hungry sharks.

I’m not saying what you infer cranked. There are also implications for other species if the balance of apex predators gets out of whack.
I am saying there is a high probability there will be increasing “interactions” (to use the euphemism), with bigger animals, in coming years. Or in plain terms, an increase in human fatalities.

Is that 4m one still hanging around? At least it was in the Dawesville channel.

I've come up with a viable method of dealing with these cunts. First we record all of Beanpoles posts and play them back on a continuous loop through underwater speakers. The vast majority of sharks will simply fuck off, but the few that remain will be dazed and confused ... and here's were Iggy comes in. He'll be paddling patiently around on a minimal, with his trusty half brick at the ready, as the distresses sharks come forward begging to be dispatched.
The moving finger writes and having writ moves on ... now all thy piety nor wit shall lure it back to cancel even half a line ... nor all thy tears wash out a single word of it.
