Murdered this: 4-6ft Point surf with thirty knots of offshore wind.

Re: Midlengths
I bet it did. I’d never want to tackle those conditions on a 6’0 JS high-perf, scratching around.

Re: Midlengths
Surfing Lennox in similar conditions really made me sure I wanted a 7' board for the first time since I sold my old Hot Buttered Butch Cooney Model. I must say the 6'4" Wayne Deane with belly channels I had at the time went very well out there though.

Re: Midlengths
It’s worth while going back over this thread. Cuttlefish had some great information on middies before other new age shakers jumped on board. I really like my Jye Byrne in certain conditions. Lined up, clean fast waves 3/4 ft. Any bigger and hollowed the rocker is too flat, much smaller the rails too straight for me. But when you get it right it’s a fun ride. Seriously good cut back on that board.

I'm still here. I just haven't been able to log in ages despite trying. Tried sending messages to the forum mods etc and never had a response. Just had another crack and got a temporary password and was able to log in.

I can fix the problem but only if I know about it.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Re: Midlengths
Still got my trusty 7'6" vquad (tri-plane bottom) that I have had for years. It's a yard stick that I use to measure any other mid length I ride. It's 21" x 2&3/4". It's a Woosley branded board shaped by local shaper John Mills who shapes for Beachbeat. It's a board that goes in everything and since it's not a Gato/Vouch/Christenson etc midlength it has bugger all re-sale value so it survived when I sold off every board I had due to a bad back.
Well that and it is a faultless surfboard in its ride characteristics.
Bought a Christenson 8' flat tracker 2.0 last week that he handshaped on his last trip here. It's 22" x 3&1/8". Definitely a cruiser compared to the 7'6".
It's good but juries out whether I can surf it often as my back is super sensitive to the torque on certain boards and their fin configurations. Hopefully it will go well on crowded points (Noosa/Alex hdld) when there's a decent sized wave.
