But when I do, it won't separate at the top of the page
Re: post your modern day sickness
There's some optical illusion going on with the spray, but that tail still looks very foiled?
Re: post your modern day sickness
Ha, looks vaguely like a Morning Star single fin I had as a grom.

Yeah it’s very narrow, sorta single fin outline, three fin set up a bit further up the board than normal. It’s like someone took a 7’2” Pipe board and shrunk it to 6’1”
Re: post your modern day sickness
You could probably use a little more foam old fella, help you with those late take offs.

wing! don't be disgusting saltman, honestly
Re: post your modern day sickness
Yes I can see what you’re saying. That makes sense. Haven’t taken it out yet. Will probably give it a run on a 3-5 foot day after this run of swell starts to lose its legs and I’ve had my fill. Will start on a punchy beachbreak. Don’t want to waste a good reef day if the board ends up being a dogcrabmeat thompson wrote: ↑Sun May 20, 2018 7:05 amand the fins are too far back.
all the foam in this board is just wrong. all the curve at the back foot is only good for turns; wide point between the feet ='s not paddling, not getting into waves; but the rocker on the board is made for hollow, backless pits where you won't ever be turning. but without any meat under your chest, you're gonna be scratching in late.
be super interested to hear how the board goes iggs. the outline, foam distribution and rocker all look to be working against each other.
Re: post your modern day sickness
Well maybe the fluidity of your surfing, a little ticky tacky of late mate

Have either of you folk ridden these boards as yet? A little review would be good if youse have the bandwidth.
Hatchman that 150 spec lpoks like a board I used to have. Highly dependable in trickier waves.

I’m still yet to surf it. That last run of good swell would’ve been ideal but I was crook for two weeks. Next 4 foot plus strong groundswell and I’ll see what’s up.

Thinking of pulling the trigger on one of these. Probably a 6.0. 33 odd litres. Any thoughts from the RS board mafia?
The blurb.
The Black Vulture has a fuller nose, added foam under the chest and a wider outline. The wide point is a little further forward too, giving it great foam under the chest and front foot when your surfing, also making it a wave catching machine (much similar foam distribution to the Rare Bird). We then gave it a bump swallow tail to pull the tail in and give it drive. Combined with a single concave to vee out through the tail. Resulting in a wave catching machine that turns on a dime.

Looks like a fast fun board for 2-4 foot beachies. More of a summer/weaker wave board.
Re: post your modern day sickness
Small, weak waves are pretty much my schtick these days.
Re: post your modern day sickness
All of the well known brands have a similar model to that one. It’s all “more foam under the chest, wider point pushed forward bla bla bla”. There are differences between them so before splashing out $800 on the Chilli I’d look at the DHD models and definitely Lost and maybe Channel Islands. They’re really fun and forgiving boards to ride especially if you’re not in the water every day.
I’m sure there’s a number of surfboard outlets on the NB’s that would have several brands that you could check out. And I agree with Legion. It’s a funny looking tail but that doesn’t mean it won’t go well.
