you edited it ?
It seemed interesting....what is the effect of the smart drumlines?
I think it's too early to tell but I am hugely in favour because it is continually taking the argument away from the anecdotal and towards hard scientific data.

There was a piece on Prime/channel 7 news a few weeks ago, with claims the smart drumlines are a success. Vic Peddmors suggested that once sharks were caught & tagged they tended to stay further out to sea.steve shearer wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2017 12:13 pmyou edited it ?

(Receiver pings do not support this theory IMO, but the DPI only have access to all the up to date data)
Anyway, someone was impressed enough to sign the cheques for a bunch more drumlines to be rolled out. (Coffs/Sawtell, Forster/Tuncurry etc.

Coffs council caught a lot of flak after a whale was buried at Sapphire in July 2015. Plenty of people made it known there was no way the Sawtell whale a few months ago would be buried if it died, right in front of the SLSC. Thing is, there is road access, and it was a small whale, so a digger and flatbed truck could take it away.
Port Macq council is going to get some grief.

If it was easily accessible they would have moved it for sure. Looks like a tough spot to just drive a truck and a crane up to and take it away.
Maybe they should dig it up, load it in a huge hessian sack and drag it offshore via tug boat. Then host the Port Macquarie Fishing Gala Day?!

Dynamite. Isn't there a video somewhere showing the efficacy of TNT?
