Re: Fiji Pro Cloudbreak 2017

these are all from the wsl site by the way. there's heaps of shots there, they're just poorly curated.

you're not joking, beanpole? i'm pretty serious about this. i know it sounds like a joke, but it's true. i was thinking a lot of us probably lost interest and didn't bother looking more closely at what went on in this contest, which was some amazing surfing in great waves - if you had the patience to wait for it. i don't care about the long intervals between good things, it's like slow food - good!
Re: Fiji Pro Cloudbreak 2017
i'll be sad if they make the contests one-day or two-day events. what do we want - no more boredom, frustration or exasperation in surfing? i think that's crazy.

Re: Fiji Pro Cloudbreak 2017
I dunno Al, I had a pretty close look at the final day, as close as you can through the webcast. I thought bar a few Wilko moments the surfing was well below par for a final day. Probably because of round three's complete seed eviction. In waves like that it shoulda taken an 18-plus to win, like double nines.Lucky Al wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2017 6:37 pmyou're not joking, beanpole? i'm pretty serious about this. i know it sounds like a joke, but it's true. i was thinking a lot of us probably lost interest and didn't bother looking more closely at what went on in this contest, which was some amazing surfing in great waves - if you had the patience to wait for it. i don't care about the long intervals between good things, it's like slow food - good!
