you'll probably need to strengthen the area where the centre box goes, and if you mix the wrong foams and resins you'll be very sorry.
The firewires get a fair bit of their strength from the skin too.
Make sure your professional knows what they're doing.

Rode my 2+1 NPJ today in some great lined up beachies. Really stable feeling out of the bottom turns and you can push them hard without fear of sliding out. For some reason, i didn't have much success last year, but i think some time on bonzers has helped. My back fin is only 6inches - but felt good, providing i had the back foot right over it. On one wave i was too far forward and had no speed or momentum, unlike the forward trim I can get on my Russ Short.
