Re: Camper Trailers
Probably going with one of these BlackWolf tents Crustt. Gets good reviews.
Space left in the car is now at critical levels/non existent, and this tent folds up to a very small package.

Re: Camper Trailers
Black Wolf are very good, but expensive. Quick to put up those - very worthwhile if you are moving around a lot, but costly if you are doing it only every week or so. Coleman tents are good in a more budget range (but take longer to put up).
The next most important thing is a good stove.

Re: Camper Trailers
For a stove we just use a simple portable stove with a single burner. Nothing flash at all. We have a camp oven for when we can have fires and these are magic. We have kept it real simple.
no, Im not a surfer, Im just a garbage man".

Re: Camper Trailers
yeah, one of those chinese wok burner rings with small LPG bottles are the thing - not a trangia or anything too exotic.diggerdickson wrote:For a stove we just use a simple portable stove with a single burner. Re: Camper Trailers
Bought one of these off Gumtree, but had to drive all the way to Liverpool to get it.......... http://www.oztent.com/oztentrange/ozten ... FlqaWccTt4
It came with every extra Oztent add-on you can get, and a couple of good quality mattresses.
And in keeping with the thread title I also bought a brand new 7 x 5 box trailer, not a camper but just something to put all the crap in.

Re: Camper Trailers
Hey Crust, been meaning to contact you. Do you (or can you) make a jetski cover. I'm not talkng about the ones that just go over the top half of the jetski. I have one of those for when transporting. I'm talking about a protective cover that goes over the entire jetski down to ground level to protect the jetski from the elements when storing.
I've seen some on camper trailers when storing them and wondered if you could make one for a jetski as I currently use a tarp and ropes and it's a time consuming exercise to put it back on the jetski each time.
Something along the lines of this but obviously shaped around the jetski/trailer?

Hi Don,
Yeah I could, that's what I do to pay the bills. But you live in Sydney don't you? I honestly don't like doing jobs unless the are in front of me and I don't know anyone owns a ski to get an idea , if you want a loose cover take it to a motor trimmer.

Re: Camper Trailers
Well I got across the country and found the Oztent RV4 to be brilliant. For what I was doing I.e. Driving until knackered each day then setting up camp it was perfect as it takes literally a couple of minutes to unpack it and get it set up. It withstood strong wind and heavy rain with flying colours and it seems very durable. Nice to meet ya Crustt, caught up with Harry in Penong too.

HaHa, Harry the happy hobbit.
Re: Camper Trailers
Just bought this little beauty, the bone have been done and just need to be fitted out with canvas. A guy was doing it up and didn't have the time or the money to finish, he was about to cut it up and sell for parts, got for next to nothing(felt a bit guilty) but he was happy.

Re: Camper Trailers
That'll be handy Crustt, good to see you replaced that hitch with something better.
I bought a brand new 7 x 5 box trailer when I left and made the mistake of sitting on 90kms/hr on a gravel road for 2 hours. Took all the paint off the front, the draw bar, the mudguards and underneath.
Put a stone guard of some sort on it if you intend going bush.

Re: Camper Trailers
The guy I bought it off did all the work , made a complete new A-frame for it, I just have to fit it out and sew up a new tent top for it.I'll post some pics when I get a bit done, could even end up in the for sale thread as to get the okay to by it from the missus it was to make money, but I really want for those quickie surf trips.
