Re: White Horses - new surf mag
I thought Als story was pretty fcuking bitching, and NC's. Thought about it quite a bit in the desert and in Perth airport, which is actually not a bad joint to hang out it, plenty of lonely FIFO workers looking for drinking buddies
I want Nightclub Dwight dead in his grave I want the nice-nice up in blazes

Cant afford one, I spent all my money on overpriced magazines...
Re: White Horses - new surf mag
Yeah, but you have that short wide board that you shaped, and it looks like...
Ah fcuk it, can't be bothered.
Maybe you can just get some butcher's paper and crayons and make your own magazine?
I haven't read the thing yet, it may very well turn out to be utter tripe.
I think it's unlikely, but I'll at least read it before I call hipster on it. I can afford it, I cut my own hair.

Sounds like a magazine for Heroin addicts.
But surfing huh?
Might give it a go.

Re: White Horses - new surf mag
I dont usually buy surf mags , but White Horse content is worth a year of the more conventional mags . Quality over quantity I reckon .
Bought a copy on the weekend - Really good stories , really good writing and really good photo's .
Anyway , conjures up what surfing has been , and should be , in an ideal world .
If you struggling with the $20 , it was probably never aimed at you (I've heard there're second hand comic book stores in Newtown ) .

Re: White Horses - new surf mag
i stumbled upon a copy in a newsagent and picked it up.
$20 is a f**king bargain for what you get. It is more akin to a $50 copy table book than a magazine.
good core surfing stories, without the womens weekly for surfers vibe most of the other mags have, and not much hipster crap to boot. I picked up another one a couple months back paper seas or something, and white horses is a waaay better publication.
I will be subscribing for sure. I hope plenty of people subscribe and morrison is able to keep the advertising to a bare minimum.

Re: White Horses - new surf mag
Last longboarding mag I bought was exactly the same format.
I actually found a copy and was going to buy it but then went whoops, not enough dosh. So I put it back.
Then after I left the shop I realised I had enough in change in my pocket.
Isn't that funny.
Ahoy, pirate. Do you sail under the flag of Morrison?

Actually bought a copy today on the way back from the quack since I'm home sick. Ambitious little publication which will become a collectors item in my opinion. Hard to see how it can sustain itself unless it gets international sales.
