Re: Where did you surf today ?
Snuk away from my cubicle, crept past the project manager and out the door. First time I have left work before 4pm in 2 months, 43 minutes dead from basement carpark to clifftop carpark. Fat, 1 - 2' onshore... but at least I had it to myself for the 46 minutes before the light was gone. No-one else would have bothered.

WOOOHOOO, congrats mate, is it your first? If it is then let me tell you that life ain't never gonna be the same again, but hey, it'll be better!marcus_h wrote:Some great waves here yesterday.
I have the next two weeks off as we welcomed a baby boy into the world Saturday night ...I may even have time for a wave or two
Also, if you're not lucky enough to get a good sleeper (both mine were SHIT) you can just roll straight from rocking them back to sleep at 4am down to the bluff and be the first in the water...Just ask TREV, we do it every morning, and he ain't even got baby kids!
Once again great news, you'll have to pop down to our local when I get back from the island, You, Trev and myself will paddle out with the sharks, surf and then have a take away coffee in the car park!

I walked round the rocks in the dark throwing poppers in the wash.
One massive hit and hook-up .....threw the hooks after some head-shaking jumps.
But it was the sand build-up that I went to recce.

Live and learn. Never seen tailor jump, though I've only ever used pillies.

Well overhead.
Well spaced crowd of under 20 who all seemed happy to sit insde too far & get caught by sets.
How you say F>U>C>K>E>N awesome.
Sadly no hot schoolies loitering around shower pole at this end of the beach.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
A good bit of swell on the surfy today - Scored this little nook not too crowded...
JDRe: Where did you surf today ?
had nice flatrock off newy baths today.
a Hawaiian bloke paddled out behind me and we got talking. seems he had a similar dilemma. none of his mates like largish waves, so we swapped numbers.
my old biggish day mate rides a shortboard and moved to Melbourne, so its good to have someone else keen to go out.
anyone find it was strangely easy to paddle out today? maybe because of the large period?
I couldn't jump off the back of the pools today as sets too consistent. but paddling out off the pump-house was straight out there.
had a bottle of hot water in the car for a nice warm shower when I got in.
as I was leaving 3 shortboard riding guys went out, one was getting pretty nice rides. I have the photographers email address if he wants the pics.

Hey Speedneedle, very nice mate, I wish we got some swell like that up here on the coast although you can keep your water temperature.
Nice and solid mate, that's what I call surfing!

Wouldn't mean much to anyone who doesn't live in or know SA, but this is The Pines in Victor Harbor. The place would be lucky if it broke at all in a year. Very freakish swell here today.
