2 questions.
1./ Does O'Neil have a repair place in Sydney. I have a steamer that needs some minor stitching & glueing done on it. Address & / or contact number would be great.
2./ Storm Riders. Saw this as a kid. Don't remember any of it except it was awesome. Has anyone seen the DVD that they have for sale in the RS shop or do they remember seeing it like 20 years ago on the big screen. Is it worth buying or was I easily amused as a kid?
Thanks in advance

1) Wing wetsuits on Captain Cook Drive at North Caringbah / Taren Point
2) Realsurf Shop. Usually an ad on the forum page (with The Occumentary, Free As A Dog)
Cool movie. First one I ever saw in a cinema. Great footage of Bells '81 (the BIG year), Burleigh, Nias and Wayne Lynch on a desert coast somewhere in Oz.

Take the suit to the shop you bought it from and they should send it off to Oneill for you.
Should be lifetime guarantee on stitching???
How about the Jap surfers at Nias with Thornton and Joe. They charged as well. I recall one of them copped a board to the face???
How good would it have been to stumble out of the jungle and onto that beach and see a set of perfect rights flying down the point!!!
Why wasn't I born in the early sixties!!!!!!

Nah, I'm pretty sure it's from another desert coast (you know the one where the locals on land are more dangerous than the ones in the water). Further west than most travel. At least I think it is. Been a while since I've seen it.BA wrote:2nd Reef wrote: Cool movie. First one I ever saw in a cinema. Wasn't the Wayne Lynch footage of him surfing Gnarloo and music by Little River Band?
And how hot is the music in it? Can you remember the start of the Wayne Lynch section with The Church singing Is This where You Live? And a shot of Lynch pulling into a looooooooooong fuuuuuuuuuucken pit. Shot from a cliff, no-one else out.
Got goosebumps thinking about it!
And isn't Sir Ted Deerhurst in it? The regal pom who turned his back on castles and corgis and was shot surfing the Outside Corner. With Mi-Sex singing Local And Or General.
Make a copy for me Snakes!

But yeah BA, the main part of the Lynch section was LRB.
I was born in the sign of water,
and its there that I feel my best.
The albatross and the whales
they are my brothers.
Its kind of a special feeling
when your out on the sea alone
staring at the full moon
like a lover
Time for...a cool change etc etc

Hey 2nd Reef, It's Models doing Local & or General and we're not meant to mention copyright infringements specially when it's for sale here on the front page add, otherwise I wouldn't have worded it to Snakes I'd "lend" him a copy for a week.
First time I watched it was like, how many songs can you pick and the composers/performers.

Snakes if ya get stuck pm me and i'll lend you my vhs copy.
It is pretty dated and was sort of made for mass appeal, hence seppo narration, some lame humour in Hawaii, windsurfing, and complete bullshit (e.g. Rabbit driving and running around the goldy sequence). But it does capture the era and has a good soundtrack (sans oils :? ) as well as good surfing.
I reckon you'd better put them rose coloured glasses on you wore as a kid to enjoy it this time around. Still it's a good nostalgia trip
