Doing them religiously.

Hey Trev, pleased the recovery is going well. Just a question for you or anyone else with injuries that might know…
Have you thought of or had suggested EMS treatment? Helps blood flow, rebuild muscle especially after injury, pain relief etc I bought an EMS set last week and it feels amazing.
Anyone have any positive or negative thoughts on EMS? Ain’t no substitute to a proper workout but I’ve found it a super mindful and effective thing to use at night on the couch.
Trev if you’ve looked into it you reacon it would help you? Or if you haven’t check it out. It’s a weird but strangely good feeling.

Re: Knee Replacement
Isn’t that some refinement on a TENS machine?
My mother used to use one.
I have a friend who suffers from Parkinson’s and she swears by it.
I still don’t have any pain. My muscle strength hasn’t fallen away badly (although I might find that not to be the case when I get back in the water).
Down the track if I feel I need anything extra I might try it. In the meantime I’m just going not do what the surgeon asks me to.

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Yeah that’s the one. Seems to be effective even without an injury or pain.Trev wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2024 11:11 pmIsn’t that some refinement on a TENS machine?

I’m hoping 2 to 3 weeks.
Surgeon is happy to leave it up to the physiotherapist to make a call.

Re: Knee Replacement
Glad you’re still with us aj, in real life and on the forum.
How come a hip replacement? Wear and tear, injury, just for fun? I always imagined you weren’t that old, not that age precludes hip problems.
Have you seen a guy called Iggy in the hip ward?
Re: Knee Replacement
Feeling pretty good, thanks buddy, although the lack of mobility can do your head in every now and again. Had my first jam this morning and it actually felt fine, although is only my hi-hat leg.
Mm, it was a birth condition, hip dysplasia. I’ve always been super flexible in my hips, now I know why and it came at a cost. Left was bone on bone. I’ll have to see how the other one goes.

Re: Knee Replacement
I have early onset osteoarthritis in the right hip.
Not sure the cause. Possibly an undiagnosed dysplasia as a kid. Thinking back, that hip has never felt quite right (excuse the pun).

Re: Knee Replacement
I’m looking at closer to three months. I’m not in a rush.
Re: Knee Replacement
Three months was what I set myself.
But the op was less complex than expected for a couple of reasons hence the quicker recovery.
Surgeon is happy with me surfing earlier.

Re: Knee Replacement
A mate recently had a bilateral hip replacement and was back in the water three weeks later! Admittedly, he’s a SUP rider, but still …
I reckon he’s mad.
