Re: Where did you surf today ?
Yeah it was definitely worthwhile and surfed somewhere I never thought I would.
Interesting note about the Israelis. The ones in Jerusalem are full on religious and I didn’t dare mention anything about the Palestinians. But in Tel Aviv pretty much everyone I spoke to was sympathetic towards them. They are the ones who do the national service. One guy that worked at the hotel said he spent six weeks in jail because he was ordered to go into the West Bank to arrest a couple of Arabs and he refused. The more Liberal ones also pay 80% of the tax here. The orthodox ones don’t let their kids to national service. I’ve never met colder people than the Orthodox Jews in Jerusalem.

Yeah, went from being progressive and left wing to reactionary authoritarian when the Fall of the Soviets allowed a flood of Orthodox Jews to settle there.jimmy wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 4:06 pmYeah it was definitely worthwhile and surfed somewhere I never thought I would.

Jimmy's post marries perfectly with the Israelis I've met. Orthodox crew could not wait to disengage. Religion and the Palestinian situation hadn't even been broached. I hope this isn't seeming stereotypic as it's simply an observation based on a very small sample size

Spent months in Israel. Hung with a few crazy commanders on the Lebanese boarder. Got pissed with them and an ex South African solider who’d served in Angola. Pissed SAFA challenged the Israeli guy to a fight. Bad decision.

East corrimal waist high but shaped ok, then the south swell started to edge it so headed to the farm. Head high sets and enough push with the long period swell to keep things interesting. The lefts were the pick and mostly uncontested. Bagged plenty, put in six hours all up

Had an okay little surf on a bank north of the flags. Tiny but not much competition. Then grabbed a bacon and egg roll from the Clubbies and watched the left on the other side. Better but really congested and dominated by young hipsters on trad mals with no leashes. Saw one lose it yesterday and his board rolled right into a couple of swimmers on the Shorey.

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

3ft offshore peaks at the wall by myself for an hour.
Everyone was up the other end of the beach.
Good to do some turns again but also found a few that opened up.

Completely destroyed the rip bowl today. Swooping bottom turns projecting into ocean bullying top turns. Beast mode to the max. At least 25 minutes in the zone.

It was pumping just south of the border this morning ... got some crackers and some hellish cardio work paddling back out.
The moving finger writes and having writ moves on ... now all thy piety nor wit shall lure it back to cancel even half a line ... nor all thy tears wash out a single word of it.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
So easy to get in and out of the water for me and nice rip back out.
