Enjoying the temperature drop Groots?

Perhaps not as bad in the afternoon or in town, but it's dropped a lot up at the county line where I surf most often.

Pleasure Point, Santa Cruz for a late arvo paddle with my boy

Surf was shit but he had a lot of fun. Some cnut dinged my board and on the way home had to go and rescue the wifes shitheap as the battery had died. My reward was we got takeout for dinner, Pork Banh Mi if you must know, and am now necking a nice cold beer.

This day is still a win
I had a surf at Pleasure Point when I was around there. Fun set up. So many points in the area. Capitola was fun for a look.

Not really mate!

Although I'm used to it, the water temps in SC are pretty much the same as Victorian water. My 4/3 Rip Curl suit is four years old now, and it will get me through this winter but not the next. I'm heading home next June for a short visit so I'm going to weigh up whether it is worth buying one there (exchange rate etc)

I got a Buell hooded 4/3 for a little over $200 from Cleanline.

How do you find it?

I was in the O'Neill outlet shop in SC on Sunday as I had to get a new suit for my son as he's sprouted, and they have a few deals in there.

I've only worn Rip Curl back zip suits for 20 or so years but am considering a chest zip one for a change

Steven Shearer. Calling Steven Shearer to the front desk, there seems to be some sort of difficulty needing immediate attention.

Haven't worn it in the surf yet, I'm on the east coast for a few days.

It's not as flexible as a RC or O'Neill. Feels like a suit from about 2015.
But I haven't worn a 4/3 in 15 years.

Yesterday I made what is about my once a year visit to Ann St.

Windansea/ Caloundra Mal Club clubhouse is coming along well.

Meanwhile, supposed to be a NEaster all night and less than a metre of swell.
In fact, clean and offshore, head high and a bit A frames, favouring the left as is normal here.
6 out!
Don't think it ever got above a dozen punters.
Two hours of just great fun.

No repeat today. 😡

Caught a couple at Bronte yesterday. Lovely long lines rolling in. Big clean up set at the end made me think this old fella was ready to come in though. Bigger and rougher today.

I purchased my Buell to surf the frigid waters of Tasty last year and it was more than adequate ... for a 4/3 the flexibility was fine.

Crap at The Bra. High point was drifting down near the flags in the rip and then paddling out to sea to get out of the rip. Shot me right up to the next break. Got an okayish one in so all up a win.

TBH, I admire beans for his persistence in surfing along the eastern beaches.
I reckon if I only got one or two (or even three) "okay" waves in a session, I'd probably look at mountain biking. 😡

I just made a decision to try and surf most days. Actually was about to can it when I drove to the Bra and I remembered a quote I saw recently that said if there’s a chance to go surfing take it because you don’t know when you will be able to again. Probably be out of the water after Tuesday when I get this skin cut out.
Since I’ve upped things by including a bike ride every second day my aerobic capacity has improved so just a paddling session is good.

I walk a lot.
Haven't ridden my bike for ages.
Probably should get back into it a welli try to do something reasonably strenuous Anny day I don't surf.
Been swinging a mattock around clearing some large root balls in the garden lately.
That takes some serious upper body work.

There’s a pretty good exertrail in Queens Park I hit on my bike ride if it’s not busy. I’m lucky I don’t have to ride on the road much. Just dodging road warriors on racing bikes in Centennial Park.
