The bodyboarder was in the right. The surfboard rider inside being a late arrival on the wave.

Yeah, kind of looks like he snaked behind the bodyboarder ... its a fucking circus out there.

I think just one clip around the ear would have been sufficient.

I note Carroll’s surfing Svengali, Maurice Cole, is pushing hard on social media he’s now making longboards. Even gone to Noosa to learn from Thomas Bexon. Interesting.

Obviously knows his market. Some of the Outer Island boards that Mitchell Rae is making these days are full tankers. 11ft Style Master pintail for some old bloke my age. Saw someone out on a 9’ model at Crescent a few years ago. He really would have gone much better on a mal at that length. A lot of them look too good to surf though.

Everyone’s a bit late if they didn’t start with the longboard revival thirty years ago.

Surfing is such a cynical business. We’ve had Carroll and others bleating on for years about how longboarders suck, twins suck etc..now look. Lol

Shane Herring. It’s a weird surfing pimple. A young guy beats Kelly once at his home break in the 90’s. Becomes a hopeless alcoholic, still is. Written about as folklore. Just a sad drunk who threw his skills down the toilet. Everyone knows someone like that.

I saw Nick Carroll recommending riding a longboard to improve shortboard technique i.e. learning how to relax your body by moving up and down a longboard.
I didn’t think Sydney really has a good longboard wave.
There’s no worries with Maurice Cole shaping them. It will be interesting to see what he produces. Is he doing it for money?
I hope so. He is running a business.

I’ve also read Nick panning long boarding here.

Why would you buy a longboard from an old shaper versed in shaping shortboards? You wouldn’t. Stay in your own camp MC, or else.

I'm not sure about that.
Certainly the headland I surfed off when in Sydney was perfect for longboards.
Not Crescent, Noosa or Byron but certainly kept me entertained for 12 years or so.
And at least back then it was easier to get a park.

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

I think Maurice is capable of making his own business decisions absent Nick Carrolls media utterances.
