Snappers been looking good. Not today though.

Shit winds, shit water quality for months on end.
However, probably the best year in a long time for snapper through kirra surfers.
Good luck beating them in a paddle battle after having point surf everyday, day after day.

Best time of year. Usually plenty of swell. All day offshores. And waters still warm enough (just) for a 3x2 and no booties.

Checked the Bra out. Heaps more swell than Bondi but a bit ruffled and way crowded. Didn’t look good for the mal either. Went home and headed down to Bondi with the foamy. Managed to find a micro left no one was onto and terrorised the learners on the Shorey.

Bra yesterday. Floating around and few duds but snared two zippery little lefts including a bit of a cover up. Rare event.

Quite good surf all week: shoulder to head high, occasional bigger sets, wind offshore 90% of the time, sun shining, half a dozen to a rare dozen on the takeoff zones, often just a few. Surf times constrained by the mega high tides, and cruel, long, reef walkouts on the lows.

Much better to come as the season progresses.

How's the surf fitness/conditioning and just general surf skills been feeling Cranked?

General surf skills are fairly low after surfing fcuk all for 3 years, and when I did surf it was on a mal.

Paddling is OK after swimming a fair bit. I'm getting waves but not getting up straight into a good surf stance.

Still, have already got more and way better waves (a few overhead and hollow) than I have in the last 3 years (excluding mal waves). It's gotta be just a matter of time.

By the way the big Covid epidemic for the locals was around Feb this year, they say most people had it mildly as vaccination rates were pretty good. Haven't really asked the Covid and Vax deniers about their change of heart (if any?).
