Re: Front shoulder pain.
Torn bicep tendon anyone?
Was due for a shoulder op first week Feb - remove some bone following a year and a half of palaver following a bike stack - partial supra tear and three ill advised cortisone injections later - anyway tore bicep tendon last week - now have the Popeye thing happening - and spoke with Ortho surgeon on phone this morning and he didn't seem too concerned - said it's just cosmetic and fixing it more trouble than worth - he's off on hols so seeing him in a few weeks pre op once it's settled down. Fcuk.

Re: Front shoulder pain.
A mate of mine had both biceps detach, same thing, got the Popeye arms now.
Nothing can be done about it in his case, but he still surfs and it hasn’t stopped him doing anything he wants to do.
I was surprised when he told me the tendon goes all the way over the shoulder and attaches at the shoulder blade or somewhere back there.
Good luck WP

Umm yeah thanks Nah good to know as I've only spoken over phone to ortho so far - he said underlying problem could have been trauma to that tendon from bike stack and whole thing may settle down now it's gone and maybe not need the op - reassuring he's not knife happy.marauding mullet wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 7:09 pmA mate of mine had both biceps detach, same thing, got the Popeye arms now.

He said something about old ladies with tuck shop arms and how they just snip that tendon to sort some shit out
Miss Pig suggested I start jilling her off with my left arm to build it up to match my right Popeye arm
Re: Front shoulder pain.
I've torn a tendon in each arm. Both times from the forearm end.
Ultrasound shows them curled up somewhere near the shoulder.
Apparently there's two tendons in each arm. So I was told by the radiographer.
And the opinion was like yours.
More trouble than it's worth to fix surgically. Long recovery.
Strength in my arms seems unaffected according to the tests they did.
Main advice was, "Just don't tear the other one".
The Popeye thing is more obvious in my right arm than my left.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Re: Front shoulder pain.
Thanks this is good to know - mine's gone from shoulder end - ortho said the main muscle is under the bicep.
Old age and wear and tear huh

Re: Front shoulder pain.
A doctor (in his 60s) I know tore his tendon lifting a kayak.
He called his mate, an ortho, who said:
"You already know it makes no difference and we don't operate on old fcuks like you, are you just calling to tell me you don't know how winches work?"

Yeah best of luck swvic.
I was depressed just from having a torn rotator cuff that took nearly 12 months to mend completely.

Bone grinding is what I have. Economies of scale I suppose. I’m looking at about 12 months until I think it feels normal. Whatever that is. Been an issue for a long time. I’m 58. NSAIDS are prescribed daily, but I very rarely take one

Re: Front shoulder pain.
I’m getting a brand new humeral head and glenoid fossa. Initial intention was to clean the joint out a couple of times prior to this. Each time expected to last about 2 years and then this. Had I gone that way, I’d be at this stage by now anyway
