Re: Where did you surf today ?
My only trip to Bali was when I was 13 or 14. I was Bob Marley mad, and we stayed in some expat's beautiful house a half an hour's walk down a winding path in a dusty town called Ubud. 8 weeks, surrounded by locals, kids playing in the river. The place was magic for sure.
It was transcendant, one of the most amazing times of my life. Everywhere I went, I heard Bob Marley. I bought loads of cassettes and started talking bahasa, smoked a cheeky gudang or two. Saw a cremation which was intriguing and so different to anything I'd seen previously. Went and saw the local band at some east coast tourist town without my parents, getting a lift with the guitarist, who acted as my chaperone, on his motorbike from the place we were staying. They played Bob Marley songs. I had a beer, the band let me come up and play a tune on guitar. They looked after me. I bought gorgeous batik cloth for a girl I liked back home.
In fact, the only thing I didn't do was surf.
I had this feeling from that place that I will never forget, and I'm kinda scared to see how it is now.
But I'm also ready to surf my head off.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Very true. I had never been to Balangan before and it was like stepping back in time. Plus a pleasant lunchtime chat.Cranked wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 5:48 pmThere are still lots of quiet areas on the bukit
Every time I have been to Bali I have surfed somewhere new on the trip.
So far I’ve surfed Kuta Reef, Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Canggu, Green Balls, Ulus, Hyatt Reef, Keramas, Medewi, Balian, Serangan and a non descript bit of Nusa Dua.

You seem a bit tense iggy. Everything ok at home? Still getting out for your monthly surf?
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Been getting plenty of surfing in over the weekends. Just posting much less on here these days. It mostly seems like beanpole talking to himself

Lining up for a savage roundhouse cutback there Trev.
Surf was fun yesterday if a bit cold when you got out.
Water is still nice and warm.
Hatchie is always a bit tense GST. It’s all that driving he does.

There's a fair bit of Dionysian hand jive going on as well. Hope the judges don't count tard g as just a one trick head dip pony.
Nay. He represents the best that is Realsurf.
