It's also worth noting ; I'm not banging the cull drum but the QLD shark control program which has been going since '62 is an actual cull.
its stated aim is a program to remove large dangerous sharks from inshore waters.
it kills sharks.
People saying 'we don't want a cull" are in a state of delusion, because this is an actual cull.

people have been tirelessly fighting those nets since their inception, for that reason. the gov don't want to reduce their tourism rev, though.
in all the attacks, by memory everything i've ever read is it was one bite attacks? just much bigger sharks doing it in the west? maybe that swimmer at cottesloe was bitten again and again. fuck, i can't really remember that far. but these east coast attacks have all been subs and juvies, exploratory bite and release, yeah?
doesn't matter tho ... the solution we agree is gonna be a complex one, and people are going to get bitten in the meantime

yeah, can't see QLD pulling those nets, or at least not without replacing them with drums.
I just find it ironic that people say there will never be a cull because of popular opinion when there has been a culling program in place for 60 years.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

A whale carcass has attracted great white sharks and sparked a feeding frenzy off the NSW coast.
Crowds gathered at Bulli, south of Sydney, after the carcass washed up against the rock platform on the northern side of Bulli Point.

Seasonally.
Re: Nth NSW sharks. Can they p!ss off already?
Seasonally is a relative thing. Southern tourist loving warm August seawater gets eaten. Then what?

humans rarely like to face the extent of their actions. it sounds much better to say, 'we're installing shark protective nets'; than 'we're indiscriminately culling sharks, dolphins, rays and turtles out the back'.steve shearer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 11, 2020 4:15 pmyeah, can't see QLD pulling those nets, or at least not without replacing them with drums.

Well they certainly won't be announcing it before the election.
