Yep me and all my crew took one to Fiji. Sick concept, great constuction works really we'll when riding as it stays out of the way and you never miss a shot or a wave. Check out the link on this site it has sample shots. Rub wax on the housing and buff it off before every use as it acts the same as rainx. Enjoy..
the examples on the website are really small, do you have any of your own examples?surfscracking wrote:Yep me and all my crew took one to Fiji. I have one of those cameras. You have to get real close to the action for the shots to come out okay, but when you do get close they do come out okay. Because it only has a very basic lens don't think you can sit out in deep water in the channel at Shark Island and get good pics.....the rider will only come out looking like a fly speck. Get close in. You'll notice when removing the film from the camera that the buttons and winder are a bit tinny, but they work.

Ok, Here it is for all the budding photographers out there wanting to take good shots. As it says in the instruction given inside the packaging of the GoPro Camera there are a few ways to eliminate beading on the lense( a major factor when surfing and taking pics).
It suggests using car polish on the front of the lenses which works well. Same as the commercial that use to show you how the beads of water run of a car when it has been waxed.
Secondly rainX same stuff different name, different chemicals, whatever.
Thirdly for all surfers. SURF WAX. This works the same as car wax or polish. Get your finger rub it on a block of wax, then rub your finger over the focal point of the housing. ie the impression in the GoPro Camera shaped as a circle. I also place it above this area.WHY?? So the beads build up speed when you raise your aim out of the water and are total removed from the lense. Then pop that puppie up and bamm instant wall hanger.
Enjoy...
