i use a dow stringer board. i find that polypro and a stringer is just too stiff and i like the bit more weight that the dow gives.

yes thats true and i would reccomend you get one. I bought a PP board, i was getting sick of the weight of the DOW so i wanted something faster and lighter. If you wanna boost, PP is the way to go.

i agree with clownshoes and sandon i love the PP and it suits my surfing as i would rather boost than do an unsatisfying spin.... its true once using PP you cant go back its like superior in my mind as its perfect for bodyboarders that want to progress with the sport and that seems to be with boosting and moves in the air....

definately love PP with a stringer as it gives you that extra pop when hitting a section...

Dow core stiffens up more in coldwater for whatever reason, so does pp, but havin the extra flex in the dow means that when it stiffens up you still get a nice feel. but a dow core board will feel faster in the cold, but still give you a bit of flex.

forgot to add, reason why dow is better is beacuse pp also gets stiffer perhaps to stiff = zero flex and no feel really.

i had a PP it ripped it up in hawaii and in sydney after jan and up until now, however i just ordered a new QCD dow cause last winter when i was down south and around the northern beaches it got too stiff and didnt function to its ability so i hope the dow in winters like the polypro in the warmer waters

I don't think you can get dow any more. The current run of boards will probably be the last as Dow has stopped making the cores (they were only ever made into bodyboards from offcuts - the bigger business for them was packing material, believe it or not). It has since been superceded. so get it while you can. Personally I like PP - it never gets waterlogged and has good memory. Everyone I've known who's owned dow has had their boards die well before their time.

hang on, isn't dow sheeps wool?
and if it isn't water tight, when you puch a hole for the leash, wouldn't that let water in? Image

Sheeps wool doesn't make a board - it needs a manufacturing process and as far as I'm aware the company doesn't do it any more. Dow waterlogs over time - not straight away - so a leash will have an effect, but not immediately.
