I just want to ride some waves ... advise me.

I have been riding waves since i was 8, but mostly with my body alone (no board).

I bought a cheap morey board on a supermarket about 10 years ago.

I liked it a lot, but my dog eated it :(

Anyway, now i want to buy a new one.

I'm 1.82 meters (about 6 feet?), and 99 kilos (about 218 pounds), and as i said, i have for the most part, never used one morey board (more than 10 days 10 years ago).

So, i was wondering, with my size/weight, and my newbines, what should i get?

EDIT: i won't be going pro anytime soon ;)

Thanks

I recomend you get a 6'1"thruster with heaps of stickers that way you will go completely unnoticed in the crowds. And having absolutly no abillity at all will put you in the top 30% of the field. So just get the gear and go do it.It also helps if you paddle in front of people when they takeoff this will get you noticed and also gain you respect from other surfers. So good luck buddy and remember what you read on this forum has been written with your best interest at heart. :|

On a serious note, if you live in the general Sydney region I would suggest stopping at the Ocean and Earth factory outlet on your next trip down south. It's at Sussex Inlet, on the road in from the highway, just before town on the right.
Get yourself a large, strong board. Then get a set of comfy flippers and some neoprene socks.
Don't listen to any bullsh*t about brands, just buy whatever feels comfy and is the right price. I've creased just as many boards as my mates, the difference is they paid >$200 for them, I paid a lot less...

Thanks guys for all the comments.

As i said, i just want to have fun.

I would use it once/twice at most a year, so i don't need a 200 dollars board.

I was wondering about my size, what size of board do i need? 44"? 45"?

Thanks

Before you call someone an idiot, perhaps you should reconsider your use of apostrophes

Imagine if jadysc was an aboriginal elder  Think of the pickle you would be in :!:

Yet people wonder why this section gets deserted. Why would we bother with the wank fest going on in this thread?

I havnt seen boogers jump all over every kook in the shortboarders section, yet here comes a chance in this section for everyone to gain some recognition because lets face it about 1.5 shortboarders who posted in this thread actually have some credibility.

Now politely fuck of to talk about that sick 2ft barrel you got at manly the other day or how your perfecting that pop up
