Allright guys, time to order a custom. Currently have an '04 4play Hardy 42".
Want another crescent tail... am 181cms and 75kgs.
Whatda guys recon i get dimension wise?
Have never ordered a custom before, and need some guidance. Am thinking of mixing the hardy with an old skool 7-x? (Anyone got the dimensions?)
And what company? QCD? Funkshen?
Any input welcome.
Cheers

Sweet. Cheersstoive wrote:can't really go wrong with Funkshen QCD or any of the other companies, they all make amazing boards.
Figure out the full dimensions of the boards you want to fuse for a start
Went and measured the lol, how's this for similiar. I thought they were more different than this.
4play Hardy (2004)
Length 42
Nose 11 ¾
Tail 18
Width 21 ½
Morey 7-x
Length 42.125
Nose 11
Tail 18.25
Width 22 ½ @12
7-x has narrower nose, but is slightly wider.... What difference would that have in performance do you recon?
And Marty haha, your prob right, i went and measured them anyway, thought i might save myself the effort haha.
in regards to custom companies unknown boards are slighty cheaper, another 20-30 bucks (depending on the options) then its funkshen and QCD are the most expensive with a Dow board with stringer, nose bulbs channels and mesh for about $360 add another $50 bucks if you want a PP core
Unknown boards are made in QLD, funkshen in WA and QCD in NSW
Another option is the ATD boards (Alistair Taylor Design) there cheaper at about $320 for a custom with all the bells and whilstes but the board is made in a different way with a different type of core etc.
With the dimensions go on the QCD website www.qcdboards.com its got all the info you need like to find the width of a board "A good rule of thumb is to multiply the board’s length x 0.506 to get the width e.g. 41.5” x 0.506 = 21” " its got all those rules of thumb thingos

Three steps ahead of ya mate. QCD emailed, Unknown emailed, Funkshen emailed, begging friends to borrow boards.marty wrote:its not really a custom if your asking for dimensions from other people - its supposed to be a custom board for you.
ride heaps of boards, read some info & go from there.
if i were you i'd email the shaper, not ask for stuff on here.
Just tryin to get all the info i can ey?!
