Paddling around the lineup it's pretty good. Low entry rocker, fairly meaty, beak nose.

Paddling into waves it's a bit early to make a call as it was an odd swell and tide combo. Feels like it needs to get in earlier, and isn't as good for late takeoffs as a true HPSB due to the higher volume nose.

Got the shorty out today for the first time, only four waves caught, and only one decent turn, but enough to feel it out.

It was the right call to go up in size for the extra wetsuit weight, so happy with that.
The beak nose really carries a lot of foam forward, it's noticeable on duck dives and combined with the flatter nose rocker you have to keep weight a little further forward when paddling for waves.

Once up and riding the board is very user friendly, it's got a sort of self-righting quality where you can take off on pretty ambitious angles and it squirts you down the line. Also seems to want to sit higher on the face, like a McCoy or a rail centric quad.
The tail flip lets you get a little slashy, and it is a pretty wide and forgiving platform for foam bounce top turns.

In terms of build quality, the foam and glassing are very good. PU/PE with dense foam, but there's some sort of brightener or something in the stringer glue, it has almost a blacklight brightness to it. Bit weird in the flat foggy light.
The leash plug is deep and annoying to get the string through and one of the fin screws was set poorly and hard to tighten.

Overall it is a 6.5/10 so far but it will probably end up closer to an 8.
where you surfing boo? still in the states?

Yeah, but in California now. Live near the San Francisco airport and work in Santa Cruz.
Surf mainly north county Santa Cruz, or Pacifica when I'm with one of the kid.

Not a vicco anymore. Living in Coffin Bay SA. Population ~ 650, swelling to > 4500 in the peak holiday season. Doing an 8 on/6 off job growing weed up the gulf a bit further. Enjoying the isolation and laid back attitude of most people. Of course there are fcukwits wherever you go, but no problems so far.

Surfing is nearly always a bit of a mission and almost always solo and spooky. Be mighty appreciative if you steer clear until El Niño breaks

Couldn't care less about baseball, except I have a serious crush on Ohtani.

Yes crabmeat, coastal California is vastly better than central Maryland.

in that case, i'll begin making preparations to be in your hood in early december. best get yourself a fireblanket

haha. no shit. what strain you growing? in tunnels, or indoors?

i've been growing jack herer ... it turned out so well they flew me to denmark/portugal and germany to to troubleshoot grows over there where they can't get jack to grow. their facilities - 20-30mil dollar set ups were all filled with mould. crazy.

stopped in at israel on the way home. biggest weed market in the world. if we could grow 2 ton a month, it still wouldn't be enough.
