some info here as requested by JaM71 on difference between the Dumpling and 'dim-SIM'
- the 'dim-SIM' is my version of the mini-simmons, just been modified to surf in a more performance way, it has more rocker than most, more curve in planshape too, no rolled hull entry and with more standard shortboardish type rails. It is a twin keel ... It likes a nice peeling wave and preferably with a bit of push so about 2-4 1/2 ft seems to be its ideal wave size...it can be surfed in smaller grovelly waves but it doesnt excel and requires more effort from the surfer to get it going, plus the fuller nose can catch thru turns especially in junky shifting beachbreak type conditions....( just being honest, no board is perfect all the time )....

- The Dumpling is flatter rockered and is a quad with the 5th tail plug also, so it can be ridden as a 5 finner ( which most seem to enjoy, I know I do )... it has a flat-single- double- vee bottom shape.
It excels in the small and weak waves, needs minimal wave power to get up and goin but the bottom contours ensure its lively and manouverable, the pulled in nose ( compared to dim-SIM ) prevent catching thru turns while still full enough to plane with ease...the Dumpling also has pretty specialise fin placement after several trial boards...it also comes with MOREalease rails, its ideal conditions are from as small as is surfable up to about head high, but I have ridden mine ( with 5 fins ) in solid 5 ft and it handles well ( with just a few tricky late take offs due to flat rocker )... hope this clears it up a bit...if ya need MORE info feel free to contact me here, or thru my web-site http://www.MOREsurfboards.com 8)

Love Cain's work MP, good to see hes sticking with his craft! Too many choices for kids these days, I see so many jack of all trades getting good at none.

Hows your Twinzer going MP? Of does SS still have his hands on it (glued to it)?

Hey Captn, thanks for the comments on Cain, he is actually getting into his art again after a bit of a spell but he has had a few requests lately and he has 3 on the go atm...and he didnt have anything to do 1 day, so I said, design me a new shirt print, and thats what he came up with.....
as for the Twinzer, still frothin on this shape but its another one that is a bit too different for most to consider....have only done a handful but customers are all stoked on them and most of those orders came from me lending my personal one...Shearer did eventually hand my one back but he does want it, he wants to buy it or get it somehow...after a few sessions at the Point where Derek raved about how he was surfing on it, think SS would appreciate it...I have one on the racks in EPS for myself, just been too busy to get round to it last month or so but it'll be just taking things a little further with this shape...the tail is a little wider than a HPS and its meant to, after all its an all-rounder/average to good wave board ( generally for around here and alot of beachies ) so a little area and a little volume is a plus...

just shaped a 4'5" bellyboard with dimples, my fingers are friggin sore, think it could be the last one I do...
unless its like women with labour pains...haha... they work and I love the performance benefits, but they suck to shape, glass, sand....

Sounds fun! Another surfing intrigue for me to try one day, haha!

On a side note, Peta got her hands on a Macbook Pro with the video editing software, so with our new semi-decent camera I'll be able to put a little vid together of me slipping and sliding on the FishFinger.

I'm scared of the stances I'll see myself making while in the middle of no-mans-land in spins, but it'll probably be a good laugh! I'll try to get some fitting music in the background too, haha.

as long as you are havin fun mate... I been riding my Fish-Fingers alot lately with plenty of tiny but clean winter peelers and its been great fun...rode the Dimple bottom one with traning keels mostly but ride my original crossword one sometimes too and they both are so much fun....would like to see how you are going on your Fish-Finger, be interesting to see...I have nobody else to surf similar boards with so no influences, just makin it up as I go mostly, be interesting to see if we are doing similar things on waves... 8)

Hey Mark. Things have been pretty quiet here of late. Any update on the new traveller board?
