I get a lot of hamstring tightness. Have done for years. I just do the obvious. Hamstring stretches every morning and night. And a decent stretch before surfing or riding.

If you still have pain or it’s sensitive, I’d be thinking ice and pressure bandage.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Should I try and get it diagnosed as to the severity?

Do you think you’ve got a tear? I’d probably go and see a physio if you’re back.

I would recommend getting someone to stick a peeled stick of ginger up your date.

Just give it a rest, mate. It will be fine. If you were out surfing with it, it seems to me it is on the mild scale.

Same as any muscle strain.
Rest at the start if you need to then progressively load it as tolerated.

An idea of a strength progression with this eccentric exercise (muscle gets longer through the contraction).

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=79siNRyI-wE

So you slide your feet out, drop to the ground and return the towel to the starting point.
If the neutral two legged is too hard on the injured side then put more weight through the good side.
Then with time and improvement progress to neutral, then more weight on the injured side, then to fully single leg.

After that you can do nordic hamstring exercise.

If you’re worried about severity there’s no radiation in an ultrasound so no harm in getting one.

If you have lingering scar tissue down the track I find shockwave therapy helpful. Or massage it out as you go.

Cheers Buddy.

I took my son and his mate to Tallows for the dawny and stayed dry.

maybe could have surfed a middy but it feels sore and tight.

Does an ultrasound give a good idea of any muscle rupture?

Yeh ultrasounds tell you the size location and direction of the tear. But it’s not essential most of the time.

It might even show if he's pregnant.
