Is that the dude from Baker?

I was riding through the trees a couple of days ago and there was a huge wind scour/tree well around a group of pines.

Fortunately I saw it in time and had enough speed to jump it but it was about 3m across and about the same deep. Would've been a nasty surprise to hit the downhill wall and have to dig out.

Was kinda surprised it wasn't marked, US resorts are normally pretty cautious but this place just lets you go wherever and you're on your own.

What happened to get the chap so deeply buried? Why is it a very North American problem?

I wonder whether all this precipitation will fill the dams.
Probably quite a bit, but I heard that the snow melt will bring biblical flooding. Stay tuned.

Not the big Colorado River ones like Powell and Mead.
They'd need 5+ seasons of this sort of precipitation.

The Californian dams are all either full or will be mostly filled when the snow melts.
The floods are going to be epic. Potentially starting this week.

We went to Antelope Island on our last day in Utah and checked out the lake and the bison.

I've been dealing with really weird piriformis/sciatica issues after the trip, I think it was from rotating my back binding forward too much.
It didn't hurt during the trip but after a couple of hikes a week later the hip on my back leg locked up and fired nerve pain down my leg. Couldn't sit or sleep for a few days, and it's just starting to come good now.

She's still there.

They likely had a partner and were wearing a harness so they could build an anchor and haul her out.

It's almost impossible to get yourself out, even if you have the ice axes and crampons and can remove your skis.
