My son loves this bowl. Tries to ollie the spine in the 'shallow' end and loves charging down to to the deep end and gets up to the tiles atvthe hope of the deep bowl.

skateboarding's way gnarlier than surfing. the potential for actual harm is ever present

I'm often scared for him, he's pretty fearless.

I'm a little stuck between encouraging him to go for it versus worrying he'll break his leg or ankle.

Broken bones are a part of the deal. It’s bound to happen sooner or later.

I’ve broken a wrist, thumb, had concussion, lost bark more times than I can remember, witnessed shoulder and elbow dislocations.

Pretty much every skatepark sooner or later will have some poor cûnt die there. Greenhills had a death not long after it opened.

Unfortunately I've given up. I've still got a fcuked rotator cuff tendon on my left shoulder from a fall over 3 months ago. Its still having a major impact on my surfing.

But I worry even more about the more fragile bone structure of older people ending up with broken back, hip, knee etc.

Ha, ha!

I've surfed and biked forever and never had any injuries at all... skating, about one an hour!

Hadn’t skated this deck in around 10 years. Just kitted it up.

Earthwing mini glider. NY made deck
Indy 169 trucks
Wheels are 63mm (but worn down lower) and 83 compound.

not so great for transition, a bit too much flex, you don't want that. great for hot mix asphalt. it's a cruiser, but can kinda bomb hills with a bit of speed, carves real nice. let's call it the all rounder. the hypto-krypto of skateboards.

Yeah, looks tops for that. Wouldn’t take it in the bowl.

i took it in a bowl a few years ago. bad move. felt ok dropping in, but went for a grind and the tail flexed, board squirreled and nearly threw me into the flats. it's for the streets, not transition.

My boy is competing in a skate comp at 5 Dock today. Level of skating is insane. Some monster airs being landed.

Have they resurfaced that deep sketchy old over-vert concrete halfpipe yet?
