Why aren't surfers scared of sharks?

I've never really been worried about them, but now I surf in places with seals I'm more circumspect about solo surfs.

God I hate those unreplicable pysch-social "science" articles with shitty premises, tiny sample sizes that try and "psychologise" their way around a problem.

I'd give that article a 0/10.

Not sure what you mean by “psychologise“? you mean make it about some made up personal experience so readers can try to relate?

Similar to your psycho babbling about people not being able to taste the difference in food but actually project assumptions about quality onto it wouldn’t you say? :-D-:
I reckon you went off when you read Heuristics being referred to. :-D-:

I’m not really sure what psycho babble means.

Actually I looked it up. Was slightly different to what I’d thought but, now understand Shearer’s point.

jeez this habit you have of following me around here and trying out this failed "gotcha" is getting super lame and tiresome Beans.

Can you come up with some new material plz?

Or absolutely anything related to the topic under discussion.

I'd say he's just trying to be spooky for Halloween except he does it all the time. 😳

I think it's just the early onset dementia causing discombobulation and a need to constantly repeat familiar memories.

I wouldn't say I worry about them, but if I'm surfing on my own and see something in the water that I can't explain ie a dark shape in the water that I can't confirm is a dolphin or a ray etc it can spook me and my mind goes off surfing.

I was surfing the beach break at the mouth of Lake Conjola on my own years ago. The friends we were staying with didn’t listen to the local news on the radio or tv. A bit later we jumped in the car to drive into Milton and the radio said there were 200 sharks off the coast in that area due to breeding season.
Sharkiest spots:
Green Island
Box Head
Anywhere around Lennox
Crescent has its moments as well.

Box Head is swarming with them, especially in a south swell, best to stay away

Yes, a NE wind blows the sharks out into the break as well :-D-:

From news.com.au

Headline: “Unlikely reason for shark frenzy”

It was a bait ball. Idiots.

To be fair to them, that's such a stupid article to write I would not have been expecting it to be the answer.
