I think Steve has a guest spot. They were going to hold a whole bunch of TED talks in Byron. But the organisers just went fuck it. Why do we need all of these experts that we need to fly in. When we can just move it down the road and get Teddy Shearer to speak about every topic?
No brainer and you’ve got Bugs and Shaun in the room.
Nick’s probably coming up for it because he hasn’t instructed Phil to shape him his next 46 channel. 4’9 single fin.

That’s because he’s got no idea what he’s looking at

I had a go at watching the Log comp.

Shannon's grating nails on chalkboard voice meant I could only get through 3 rides.

The English commentator speaks too fast and uses too many words. It’s a bit tiring to listen to and seems incongruous with the whole longboarding at Malibu vibe. He’s got some cred though.

“Sam Bleakley is a British surfer, travel writer, filmmaker, presenter and longboard contest commentator. His published books include Mindfulness and Surfing: reflections for saltwater souls (2016), The Longboard Travel Guide: a guide to the world's best longboarding waves (2015), Surfing Tropical Beats (2011) and Surfing Brilliant Corners (2010). He has been a multiple British and European longboard surfing champion. Sam holds a MA in Geography from Pembroke College, University of Cambridge and a PhD from University of the Arts London and Falmouth University entitled Surfing Haïti, and a new wave of travel writing.”

Harrison Roach World Champ. Great stuff.
Wow, last crossover ride with both surfers.
Won’t see better longboarding than that.

You'd think he could spend some of that time learning how to speak clearly.

Way too much analysis and not enough funny unrelated anecdotes. Definitely way too few strained analogies as well. This is the problem with getting literate people to do sports commentary.
