The guy who took this clip knows everyone in Cooly. Even all the kids who rip. He knows everyone by name.
He posted a compilation clip of unknowns from last week at Kirra. It was heaps of fun watching normal people surf Kirra. There’s heaps of good ones on Shagga’s feed. But 112 is mental. How stoked would this bloke be?

I’ve watched a lot of Kirra footage and I’ve now watched the Tim Bonython footage of Wedding Cake, Nth Beaches and The Bra in the last swell. My verdict is hardly anyone in Sydney appeared to make any waves and copped some serious flogging. Kirra remains an insane wave that allows for miraculous tube rides.
His regular footage of Ours features way more guys making waves than any of his recent Sydney footage. Ponderous soundtrack too.

Ponderous is the perfect description of his videos in general. Never a light touch with Tim. Still pretty watchable though.

I tend to agree. More shocked at how few waves were getting made. It looked like a 90% failure rate. Aren’t these guys supposed to be the gun surfers?

What’s the consensus on the best legrope for up to DOH for build quality and least likely to snap?

I’ve tried all the generic brands, and they’ll all snap in given situations.

Is there some product or tech out there that’s substantially better, more dependable, less likely to snap? As they all seem pretty equivalent so far.

I use one of those O&E “world’s strongest legrope” on my gun.

I surf 8-10ft max.

Hasn’t broken yet in some pretty powerful waves.

Not sure you’ll find consensus though.

I'm with you on the O&E.
Not on the size though. 😱

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

These?

If so, snapped the exact one in 6-8 foot beach break surf last weekend. Right in the impact zone, close out section, so I guess that was its limit. Only had the leash a few weeks
