It’s probably just the centuries of inbreeding that all those English people have

Yep. Looks like he’s got Latrell Mitchell’s trainer though. Reckon he’d be better with a few kegs off.
He used to look more agile and lazy/nonchalant which was /is cool.
Now he looks more fat and lazy. Still a fucken legend though and was my all time favourite until JJF.

Was just thinking about my all time list. Gee that brings back some memories. From Horan through until now.

A guy is suing Urbnsurf after hitting the concrete and breaking his neck. Appears he’s going down the design flaw avenue. Presume this is to circumvent the fact he probably signed something before going in to deny them any culpability. Be an interesting case to follow. I understand there’s been plenty of injuries there.

I don’t know the outcome but I think it’s bullshit if he wins.
There’s a shallow bit of concrete to make it barrel.
If you want to surf the barrel setting, you may hit the concrete with significant force.
Simple in my eyes.

There’s a waiver to sign and they re-enforce the dangers pre paddle out and tell you to cover your head with both arms on a wipeout and get you to show them you understand before you paddle out.

I'll admit, in advanced and probably beast mode, the wipeouts are pretty fucken gnarly and happen often.

It's interesting to watch the number of people that crime out split open or with a busted board.

Bunch of guys from up here went last year (I think).
There were some pretty good surfers among them (think Windansea).
Couple came back with bark missing.

I’ve surfed intermediate, advanced and advanced turns.
I don’t consider myself an advanced surfer, but have no trouble surfing those settings.
The amount of people out in the advanced sessions that I don’t consider anywhere near even an intermediate skill level is pretty crazy.

My last session a guy didn’t make a single takeoff the whole session in advanced turns.

You can’t help retards like that.

Get a foamie and learn to takeoff in cruiser mode or at any piece of white water down the coast.

There’s a skate park near me. I can’t watch because young people are always falling on to the concrete.

The worst is when they aren't smart enough to dive to the bottom when they wipe out on take off. I'm surprised there aren't more collisions.

I've only surfed advanced on my backhand, struggled with the barrel. Looked way easier on your forehand.

Mate of mine got dragged along the wall because he had to turn and miss someone who had just lost it on the previous wave and not moved. He’s a pretty good surfer.

Urbnsurf are saying he was a kook in the advanced setting.
Urbnsurf denies the business is unsafe and says Mr Nolan failed to take reasonable care for his own safety, did not pay attention to his surroundings and chose to surf in an advanced session “when he knew or ought to have known this was beyond his skill and capability”
