Re: that wetsuit discussion...
Who washes their wetsuits?
I always put the hose on mine in the board bag.
Used to work with a woman who reckoned she put her two sons wetsuits through the wash.

I just rinse it out at the shower at the beach.

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
A mate of mine who works as a lab assistant told me to wash the wetsuit thoroughly after every use if possible years ago. I try to do that and it keeps the suit a lot more supple and they seem to last longer. Zippers work better too.
Actually saw two people standing in plastic buckets to get out of their wetsuit today. I thought seeing one was unusual.

There’s a two week wait for Needs at the moment so I got a 2/2 short arm O’Neill steamer for $200 from Sideways. BACKZIP!! First one I’ve bought in a long time but that was all they had and I’m heading to Shearerville tomorrow and not sure the springy will cut it. Will report back on my thoughts on the backzip..

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
After spending years ever increasing my bootie budget I rebelled last year and just went for the bog standard o'neill round toe cheapos (Epics I think). No cinch straps or anything. They feel exactly the same as the more expensive ones, to the extent that I've concluded that the cinch straps are a bit of a hoax. Never tried the Atans - would I wreck em walking over rocks n shit Leej?
Re: that wetsuit discussion...
I use the split toe, O'Neill Super Freak.
Comfortable fit, with a strap over the instep and a cord tie as well.
Think they were about $65. Holding up well.

Cheers leej. They’re usually a distress purchase from the local surf shop when I suddenly realise the current ones are fcuken freezing but if I somehow manage to plan ahead I may well give the Atans a try

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
My last back zip had a couple of big flaps to seal it at the back. Major pain in the arse to do a reach around and get them overlapping and flat before zipping. However pulling my chest zip off via my left shoulder which is a bit dodgy to start with can aggravate matters.

Anyone who can't handle a back zip should be banned from surfing.
Forever.
Forever.

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
You definitely had to manhandle my last one. Surely being easy to handle is what wetsuits aim for.

The only thing I like about my new backzip is how easy it is to get in and out of.

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
Just to clarify here I’m not talking about the regular zip cover flaps here. I’m talking about large overlapping flaps that seem to be a byproduct of a generic manufacturing process for front and back zips and sit under the smaller flaps.

We all know that you’ve got massive flaps, Beans. It’s cool.
