Might go check it anyway. I’m planning on only taking the 6’10 mid, it’ll handle

For $70 no biggie, it’ll only sit in the wardrobe rest of the year up here

I can see the gumtree ad already.

‘Epic wetsuit, used on one surf trip to Victoria only, practically new. $70 bargain.
RRP $140.’

It’s definitely coming into steamer buying season with more Summer Sales on the way. My one beef with front zips is they tend to compress my dodgy shoulder getting them off if I can’t fold it past my elbow in one quick motion. My old steamer is generally okay because it’s stretched.

3/2mm backzip steamer only $70 from TSW. anyone game enough to admit owning one that cares to comment?

planning a trip to Portland over the EOY break, will need a wetty.

Ad makes sense, didn't know 20c water was classed as very cold.

"This suit is designed for very cold climates, it is optimal in water temperatures from 15C to 20C."

Cold fronts still come through. The premier point works where just about* everywhere else is onshore. The air can be very cold. 4/3s will be in the water during. Good move, iggs

Also upwelling

*nearly paid off

But, unless i move to vic the wetsuit will deffo be hanging in the wardrobe the whole time.

The el cheapo will probably be ok for a quick EOY dash.

Aside, when it’s time to get serious on quality, what are decent wetties to look for? Backzip pls.

It’s been 15 plus years since I’ve looked into it

Asking for a back-zip wetsuit is like walking into Harvey Norman and asking for a black and white television ... chest zips and zipper-less are far superior.

My favourite wetty is an Xcel short-john ... no zippers just rubber. It gets worn through spring, summer and autumn. Best thing ever.

I decided to chance it on the Buell.
Got a 4/3 hooded for $220 (Seppo dollars).

Still keen to try a Feral, supposed to be tits, but they're out of stock until December.
The Cleanline shop suits also get good reviews.

As mentioned, I was more than happy with mine. Good quality for a great price.

Got my O'Neill smoothy LS Spring back from Zee- fully taped.

The tape seems kind of gonzo.

Going for a test drive now at Point.

Probs.

Experiment is a total fail.

Suit is now sealed but so stiff and unwieldy it's barely functional.

Why oh why, can I not get a suit off the rack as good as the ones I got 5 years ago?

I thought things were supposed to progress/get better?
