Needs wetties.

Anyone with good or bad experiences with them?
I find them pretty average to be honest, decent at first but not great memory in the neoprene and not that warm. The rubber on the neck also deteriorating pretty badly.
They’re a lot better than they used to be and I like supporting them. Great customer service too. Although their SS 2mm steamer is $220. I saw an O’Neill in Sideways on the weekend for $170. Think I’ll go the O’Neill this winter.
$170 is pretty good.
Back zip?
Serious question.
Bought a Needs 3/2 backzip (I'm a Shearer man) for $220 recently, it's great. I have a 4/3 as well from two years ago that has only just started letting in water. I reckon they are good. O'Neill are better though! 2mm too cold for down here though. The sub dawns are no fcuking joke

I remember some wheelchair xylophonist getting all macho about how he liked to smash absolutely heaps of Weetbix before a hard day's roofing

I'm still getting by with 2 long johns (a 2mm and 3mm) and 2 front zip jackets (one a 2mm body with 1mm arms and the other all 2mm). Also a couple of short sleeved 1mm tops that I mainly use in Bali but sometimes use in WA with the longjohns.

I can swap them around to suit various conditions and I get very free movement as the top is not connected to the longjohn part at all.

Plus they are really easy to get in and out of.

I'm not thinking of changing. I've got 5mm on my body which is great on a chili winters morning.

The major disadvantage is getting drilled and being dragged backwards underwater mid-winter which gives a bracing flush of cold water up through the jacket.

Well, it’s something I’m looking at. Still waiting for a shoulder replacement. And the very best 4/3s are too restrictive. 3/2s too cold for Vicco winter. A good flexi 3 or 4mm longjhon with a 2 mm vest is perhaps my best outcome. Anyone making that long john?

Also, my vest would be UNDER the long john so no crazy flushing

I also wear a hooded vest OVER a steamear because I hate the leakage through the face and down the neck. Yes, cnuts, winters here are fcuking cold 🥶

I'm surprised steve's not on board with those combos. Who needs modern steamers anyway. The long johns probably team well with a hood
Yes, of course, a hood does set everything off nicely

Hurley make some 3/3s that are heaps warmer than 3/2s I find
Yeah, but it’s still 3 mm at the shoulder. Getting older carrying chronic injuries suck. Still better than dead. Life is good

It is, really isn’t it.
I heard an Attenborough interview where he said, think about the pretty much scientific impossibility that life on earth even exists. So it’s precious. Protect it.
Add to that the unlikely fact your one sperm beat all the others and made YOU!!

Into my third season of my Quik top of the line whatever they called it FRONT ZIP steamer. Minor leakage on duck dive but I’m a cheapskate so will persevere

My Excell steamer lets in a bit of water around the neck but it’s still going strong after two plus years.

To tell the truth eggs are one thing I avoid buying when I’m grocery shopping. So you may say I’m an intermittent egg buyer who usually lets someone else buy them.

Our colonial overloads eventually do lose their cheerful disposition at our egregious bastardization of the Queens English in time.

Meanwhile I'm trying not to lose my 💩 at Americans usage of the Imperial system of weights and measures. I mean FFS your life would be so much better in metric

You got that right. To think, we did away with retarded British currency and replaced it with a reasonable dollar system.
