Copped a few solid ones on the head today. Lovely conditions. I’m really getting sick of finless foamy riders. Fcuking menace.

Me too.
Not a foamy but a longboard finless been out at my local lately.
A few times he's been inside me and I've left the wave to him but he's too busy doing his spins and slides to bother getting across the wave.
No more.
I just go.
Twice today I've paddled back out and sat near him in the line up.
No comments, no snide looks or scowls so I figure he doesn't care.

Some of these guys are good surfers but if they take off on a bomb and start side slipping into the crowd they can’t really change direction quickly. Particularly bad at Bronte where there’s a big outside section.
Got smashed on one wave outside today and my leg rope nearly slipped off. Just hung on by arching the front of my foot.

Hit the Bra. Rip was crazy. Paddled out in the channel in front of the Pavilion. Thought I would paddle north to the left bank rather than south to the right. After a bit of paddling I realised I was lined up for the right and everyone else was drifting south and out to sea. Tried to catch a couple in the rip then gave up and drifted south. Ended up right down the south end with a pile of other people. Caught a couple of waves and came in. Cold.

No one managed to paddle against that rip at dead low tide.

Not an 8 year old anyway. I think I can safely say I spent more years paddling against rips on the Gold Coast than you have young fella.
I mean it’s not like anyone knows how to surf at Maroubra.

You may not have noticed we are in lockdown here, Jimny.
Anyway if you prefer to believe a big noting Pom rather than someone who grew up surfing actually rippy waves go right ahead.
Funny thing was I often surf that right when it’s bigger than yesterday and the rip is rarely bigger than it was yesterday. I’m sure it was fine at high tide. I was just out for a bit of exercise anyway but not a full on slog.
Surfline reporter
today has low tide at 8:15. Actual stated high tide on the site is just after 9:00 and actual low is about 2:20.

Full moon coming up, spring tides are always a factor in rips.
