Got the Grootlets out on some rented soft-top longboards down at Santa Cruz. They had a blast, especially the boy who told me to stop pushing him onto waves after a few as he wanted to paddle onto them himself. Not really swivel, I was just a bit unclear.
They come with fins, but not proper FCS fins.

Went for a bash. Pretty deplorable. Only wave I got in the crowd some knob decided he would take off on the shore break inside and try and snake me when Ihit that bit.
Highlight was seeing this guy driving out of the car park directly in front of me with the nose of his foamy jammed under the front roof rack and the back of the board over the back one. Fins down and one strap tied around the front.

If the surf was busy the last few weeks due to the lockdown lite approach, with all trades being forced to stop, it was absolutely packed for the early.

The new Gerry Lopez foam board for the young fella certainly did the trick. Ended up paddling into eight waves all on his own this morning. He was delighted that his wave count was higher than mine!

Ninety out at Bondi…yep I counted them. Trying to motivate myself but it’s hard with those numbers and a small swell. Bra looks packed as well.
